Sometime later...

The doorbell rang.

I got up from the couch and headed to the front door.
To my surprise, Draco was standing there.

"Oh hey. I didn't know you were coming today." I told him as I stepped aside so he could walk in.
He was wearing a black knitted sweater and some jeans.

"Yeah, I needed to get out of my mansion." Draco spoke as he sat down on the couch.

"You came over yesterday, love." I began as I closed the door.
"Was it not enough?" I joked as I joined him on the couch.

"I guess not." He frowned.
I couldn't help myself but frown too.
"Come here," I told him as I put myself in the position to cuddle him.
He laid in between my legs with his back towards me.

"Whats wrong, love?" I ask as I softly play with his hair.

He sighs before he says, "When I'm home, it's all about the Dark Lord. Our mansion became his safe house. It just doesn't feel like home anymore."

I softly frown again.
"Don't worry, love. You're welcome here anytime. This could be your escape from home." I comfort him with a smile that I know he could sense.

He sits up so he could face me.
He looks me in the eyes and says, "you are my home."

I felt myself turn red as I smile.

He smiles and leans in to kiss me.
I reciprocate and I felt him smile into the kiss.

"Ahem."

We let go and saw my father standing by the doorway with his arms crossed.
His face was stern with an eyebrow raised.

I softly laugh to ease the awkwardness between us.
I saw Draco's face turn red with embarrassment as he backed away from me.

My father's look slowly turned into soft smile.

"You two remind me of my wife and I when we were younger. Madly in love." He grinned as he put his hands into his pockets.

"Daaad." I waned so he could stop.

"Alright, alright." He said with a laugh.
"Are you hungry? The elves just fixed up some snacks." My father asked.

"I'm not really that hungry." I answered him.
"What about you, Draco?" My father asked him.

I look at Draco.
"Err...No thank you, sir. I just ate at home." Draco answered my father.

"Suit yourselves."
My father left the living room and into the kitchen.

I heard Draco chuckle.
"What are you laughing about?" I asked with curiosity as I nudged him.
"I've never seen your father sooo" He paused trying to find the right word.

"Happy."

"I always see him acting so cold and stubborn. It was just an odd thing to see." Draco smiled.
I chuckled.
"Yeah. He's been like that since the Dark Lord came back. I think he's just trying to be empathetic to keep us calm." I smiled.
Draco nodded.

"Let's go to my room. At least we'll be ALONE in there." I made sure to yell out the word "alone" so my father could hear.

"It's not my fault you were snogging in the tv room." My father responded from the kitchen with a yell.
