Year 6: Dumb Duel

Y/N POV

I could tell Draco's stress was getting worse and worse, so I decided to let him rest for a moment. Let me continue on with the task.

I was walking down the corridor when I bumped into Potter, Granger, And Weasley. 

"Watch where you're going." Granger groaned. All three of them gave me a death stare. I wasn't in the mood for insulting them. So I just walked away.

On my way out of the castle, I felt like I was being followed.
I turned and nobody was there.
So I kept on walking, but I still heard footsteps. I turn around and saw a glimpse of orange hair disappear suddenly.
I walk towards where I saw it. As I pass a wall, I saw Granger there.

As a reaction, I took my wand out and aimed it at her. "Following me, are you mudblood?" I insult.

"No-I was just-err" Granger stuttered.
"Don't lie." I roughly say.
I step closer to her as my wand almost touches her neck.
She suddenly took out her wand and casted a spell onto my feet which made me lose my balance.

She ran and as I got up I casted Rictumsempra.
Granger was able to dodge it and she hid behind a wall before she swished her wand towards me.
I blocked the spell and hid behind a wall too.

I swished my wand at the corner Granger was in as she did the same.

I peeked over the wall and saw nothing.
I ran to another wall as I casted Stupefy to Granger who was able to dodge it.

I braced myself and turned the corner as I tried to cast Expelliarmus but I was too late as Granger casted Flipendo.

I flipped and fell onto the floor.
My wand rolled off of my hand.

In that moment, Professor Snape and Dumbledore entered the corridor.
My ribs started to ache so I held onto them as I sat up.
"Miss. L/N. What happened?" Dumbledore said as he knelt down to help me. I look over to Granger who was standing there dumbfounded.

"Miss. Granger. I expected better from you." Dumbledore said as he continued to discipline Granger. He had given her detention with Prof. McGonagall as they both walk away.

I help myself up as Snape just stood there. "What really happened?" Snape asked.
"Nothing. Just some dumb duel that's all." I lied as I grabbed my wand from the floor.

As I turned to look back at Snape, he was closer than before.
"Don't lie to me." Snape sneered.

"She was following me, so I decided to cornered her." I say with a low voice.

"Don't make yourself look suspicious. Potter has already accused you and Draco of cursing that Bell girl." Snape advises as he walks away.

God Damn it, Potter.

I continue heading out of the castle, to go to Hogsmeade, to ask Rosmerta about the necklace.

Once I got there, I entered the Three Broomsticks.
It was so easy to sneak to the back with Rosmerta.

"What did you do with the necklace?" I aggressively ask in a whisper.

Madam Rosmerta stayed quiet.

"Answer me!" I shouted. My patience was running low.

"I gave it to that Bell girl." Madam Rosmerta confessed.

I closed my eyes and sighed.
"What in your right mind, told you to give Katie Bell that necklace?" I ask in frustration.

"You told me to get the necklace to Dumbledore. Whatever it takes."

"And that was it?!" I half yell.

"I never found time to go and see Dumbledore. So I thought if I gave it to a student who was under the imperius curse, who would give it to Mr. Filch, who can deliver it to Dumbledore." Rosmerta explained.

I put my hands to my face.
"Alright, at least we have the other plan right? The bottle of mead with poison?" I asked.

"Yes. It's ready for Slughorn to buy." Rosmerta says.

"Good. Okay, I'm getting out of here." I say as I walk out of the Three Broomsticks.

Some time later...

I went to Blaise to ask him where Draco was. Blaise was furious because Slytherin didn't win the quidditch game.
"Blaise, do you know where Draco is?" I ask.

"No. Why would I know? He keeps missing practices and matches. So do you. Where were you today?! We needed you! What's going on with you guys?" He replies.
"Nothing. Everything's fine." I lie. "Thanks anyway."

I walk out of the common room fidgeting with my hands.
Ugh, Blaise is noticing too.
I walked pass a loud common room. Probably Gryffindor. They were celebrating the win against Slytherin.

I sighed. I knew Draco had been recently going up to the Astronomy tower. I went up there and I found him there.

I walk towards him and I put a hand on his shoulder. "Hey love." I say.

He doesn't say anything but pulls me into a kiss. He lets go and hugs me so tight.
I felt tears drops fall onto my neck.

He was crying.
This is becoming way too hard for him.
I rubbed his back as I hugged him tighter. I thought about what he must be going through.

That's when a tear drop fell down my cheek.

"Draco, love. I need you to listen to me. Everything is going to be alright. This is a rough patch that we will get through together. Even if it's the last thing we do." I say to him softly in his ear.

"I love you y/n. I love you so much." He whispers in my ear.

"I love you too." I say to him.

"Let's go to bed." He sniffled as he let go.
I wipe a tear off his eye before I give him a kiss.
We intertwine our hands and we walk to our common room to end the night.
