➳Alaina's POV

I still wasn't talking to Luke. It was weird not seeing him almost everyday and not telling him about what happened throughout my day. I missed him, but I was stubborn and wasn't going to just forget about what happened.

I wanted so badly to get out of this house. I was tired of being stuck within these four walls. I didn't really hang out anywhere other than the park, so I didn't know where to go. I decided to call someone and ask them some places.

I ended up calling Michael. Of course he suggested that he should come along, so that he could show me some places. I obviously agreed; Michael is really fun to hang out with and was just overall fun.

We decided to go where all teenagers like to go, well almost all. The mall.

It was a totally overrated place to hang out, but they had food, so everything is cool.

"You suck at this game so badly. You're horrible at driving." Michael said as he laughed at me. Michael wanted to go into a video game shop and thought it would be fun to have me try some games.

"I'm just playing bad, so then I won't hurt your ego."

Michael cocked an eyebrow at me, " Is that a challenge?"

"Oh definitely."

-----

"I let you win. You know if I didn't I would've beat your ass." I playfully argued with Michael.

Michael stopped from walking to the food court and I slammed straight into his back. "Alaina, you suck at video games." He said in a soft whisper as if making sure he didn't hurt my feelings.

I laughed, "Fine, but since I suck at video games, I think you should buy me a pretzel." I joked.

Michael looked down at me as we walked. Michael wasn't much taller than me, but he was tall. I think the thing that I liked best about Michael was his hair. It was just so different from everyone else's.

Michael was so different from everyone else.

As Michael and I waited for our salted soft pretzels, I saw Luke.

He was sitting with some girl. They were really close and were sat right beside each other.

I didn't want to jump to conclusions, but the way Luke has been acting lately, I just couldn't help it.

The girl was very pretty. Too pretty for my liking.

I couldn't help, but feel hurt and angry.

"Alaina, are you okay?" Michael asked as he looked around to see what I was looking at.

I guess he saw Luke because his jaw dropped and his eyes widened, "Shit."

I took a deep breath trying to calm all the feelings that I was feeling.

What do I do? Do I go over and confront him? Do I just wait to talk about it another time? What if it's nothing and I'm just overreacting?

Before I could even stop myself, I was making my way over to Luke.

Right before I could fully get to him, I stopped myself. What am I doing? I'm not that type of girlfriend? It's probably just a friend. I mean I came with my friend, so why can't he come with his?

I turned around and started to head my way back to Michael.

Just then I heard him.

"Alaina?"

I turned around to face Luke. His eyes were wide and his face was starting to get red. He frantically looked around and back and forth between the mystery girl and I.

I didn't even tried to hide the anger I was feeling and crossed my arms over my chest.

"I can explain. I know it looks bad, but let me explain." Luke stammered as he stood up from the seat and took a step toward me.

With every step Luke took toward me, another step I would take back.

A hurt expression crossed Luke's face when I backed away from him.

He reached out and tried to grab my hand in his.

"Don't touch me." I gritted through my teeth.

"Listen, I really wish I could tell you what's going on, but I just can't."

Was that Luke's explanation?

"That's your explanation? That's all you have to say? Luke I'm getting tired of not knowing what's going on." I felt so hurt.

I trusted him when I was adjusting from the accident. I believed him. Yet, he doesn't want to tell me anything.

"You just don't want to know, Alaina." Luke started to get angry, I could tell because his breathing got quicker.

Michael then walked up to me. I guess to make sure nothing bad would break out. After all, we were both angry at each other. Honestly, I don't think either of us knew exactly why we were so mad, other than the obvious reasons.

Once Luke saw Michael he scoffed, "That's who you've been ditching me to hang out with?"

Is he seriously doing this right now? Why would he even bring Michael into this?

"You know Luke you'e different than what I thought. Before we started going out, you were romantic and loving. You wouldn't do this. But now you're just being a dick." Michael leaned over and rubbed my back as if trying to calm me down.

"And you're different than what I remember. You're definitely not the same Alaina that I knew before the accident. I guess I was wrong." Luke hissed.

Seeing Luke with some other girl and being so close really hurt, but this definitely hurt more.

At this point I didn't care if I hurt Luke's feelings or not.

"I wouldn't be any different if that damn wreck didn't happen anyway. Maybe it's not just my fault that I'm different, maybe it's yours too." I immediately regretted saying that because Luke's face dropped.

I knew it was a low blow, but I just didn't care.

Luke looked back up to me. Usually I was the one with tears in my eyes, but now I was the one putting tears in Luke's eyes.

I knew that the accident was a sensitive spot for Luke, so why did I bring it up?

"Maybe you're right. Maybe we should just end this." Luke mumbled, looking away from me.

Just when I thought things couldn't get worse, they did.

This isn't what I wanted. I didn't want to end things, I just was talking out of stupidity.

I couldn't even speak.

I thought about what just happened as Luke walked away.

Why did I have to be such a bitch?
