➳Alaina's POV

It had been a week since everything with Riley happened and I was surprised that nothing has happened yet. I mean Riley was pretty serious when she was blackmailing me, but it seems like everything was a bluff or something.

I still avoided Luke. Even though I haven't seen Riley doesn't mean she isn't watching me. I mean she's clearly insane, so who knows what she'll do.

With everything going on with Riley and Luke, I had to push it aside for today. I had to go with my parents to meet with each other, so that they can get on terms with everything to make sure everything was situated before they have the divorce finalized. I'm going with them because they wanted me to make sure I was okay with what they were deciding on.

My dad had already moved out into an apartment with one of his friends. I didn't know who exactly, but he said when the divorce is finalized and we are comfortable then I'll be able to meet his friend.

My mom was frantically pacing through the house getting ready, "Alaina, make sure you have something decent on. I know you really don't want to come and do this, but it means a lot to me and your father." She shot me a smile as she put her earrings in.

"Where exactly are we meeting anyways?" I questioned.

"Some restaurant that your  father chose."

I got dressed in simple black dress that flowed at the bottom and had a small thin gold belt.

Time to go.

----

We have been at the restaurant for almost an hour and it seemed like we still haven't made any progress. Most of the conversation was my mother and father arguing or making snide comments.

They have fought more now than when they were together. It just doesn't make sense to me. If it wasn't my mother blaming my father for something then it was my father blaming my mother. It was all so frustrating and my mind was running a thousand miles per minute.

"Are you guys serious? You're acting as if you are two five year olds fighting. It's so pathetic. You are adults fucking act like it." I couldn't contain myself anymore. I stood from the table, walking straight out of the restaurant.

I don't really know where I am heading, but I really didn't care at this point everything was so frustrating and it feels as if I am losing everyone.

I thought back to everyone that I had met since the accident. The only person that I still had left was Alice. She had gotten a job and was super busy with it, so I haven't seen her often, but we still text each other.

I took my phone out and texted Alice to see if we could met up sometime today. I just need to get my mind off of everything right now.

Of course, Alice said that we could meet up, but first she had to do something for work first. I didn't mind, it just gave me extra time to cool off.

I walked the streets of town, my feet getting caught in the dress since is was quite long. I grew frustrated and held it up in my fists as I walked.

My stomach growled from hunger as I walked. I know I just left a restaurant, but what can I say I eat a lot. Plus listening to my parents argue and stressing about that made me not really eat that much.

I walked to whatever place came to my mind. As I walked I recognized two familiar faces.

Luke and what seems to be, Riley?

It can't be, that makes no sense. I have to be having a nightmare.

It just didn't seem real. Luke wouldn't dare be with Riley. He knows it would hurt me.

I knew I was wrong when I saw Luke grab Riley and pressed their bodies to each other. Luke hung his head low whispering into Riley's ear. Riley grinned at whatever Luke had said and bit down on her lip.

Luke slowly left kisses up Riley's neck, to her jaw, then finally placing his lips on hers. I couldn't bring myself to move. It's like I was in shock and to be honest, I was.

Luke and Riley together?

My heart felt like it had dropped to the ground. It was as if the world stood still.

Is he doing this out of spite? I don't know, but all I do know is that I hate whatever I am feeling right now. I'm not sure what it is exactly that I'm feeling, but it sure as hell hurt a lot.

Luke pulled away with a huge grin on his face as Riley nuzzled her head into his chest.

They looked so...adorable? Yet it wanted to make me upchuck everything I had eaten.

I was interrupted from my thoughts when I got a text from Alice.

From Alice: i'm almost done with my work, so just meet me in the park by the playground?

I agreed and went straight to the park. As I headed to the park, I was no longer hungry. Just the sight of Luke with someone else made me lose my hunger.

I shouldn't feel horrible. After all, Luke isn't a piece of property that was mine to keep locked away forever. It wasn't like I'm in love with Luke.

------

I finally arrived  at the park and found a bench by the playground to sit and wait for Alice. She's probably still finishing up at work.

As I sat and waited, I watched all the little kids running up and down the jungle gym. There was a little girl with dark hair swinging as a little blond boy stood behind, pushing her higher and higher.

"Look Logan, I can jump off!" The little girl called back to the boy, who I guess was named Logan. The little girl went flying in the air before gravity pulled her back down and she fumbled as she landed. She ended up scrapping her knee and winced at the pain.

Logan, the boy, ran over the her and immediately hugged her, "Don't cry, Abby. Do you want me to make it better?" he gave her a small smile. She shyly nodded her head yes.

Logan leaned over and pressed a small kiss on the little girl's cheek. "See all better." His small smile grew bigger as Abby, the little girl, hugged and thanked him.

"Hey, wanna play pirates? We can act like your boo-boo on your knee is a scar from battling the meany evil pirates." Logan excitedly said. Abby agreed and they held hands and ran off to play elsewhere.

They reminded me so much of Luke and I. I mean I can't remember when we were younger, but that's how I imagine Luke and I were like. I thought back to the day Luke had brought me to the park. That day was absolutely amazing yet so hard for me.

I was interrupted by a tap on my shoulder. The person was talking before I could turn around.  "Excuse me, but have you seen my girlfriend? Her name's Riley and sh-"

Luke stopped as  I turned and faced him.
