"Now I want you four to go straight to bed when I leave for my meeting." Solomon told the children once they had finished changing into their pajamas. "I don't want you to give Blitzo any trouble. No pagan games and no sacrificing him. Promise me."
"We promise." They said.
"Behave yourselves tonight and don't torment Blitzo again."
"We'll try." Alastor said.
Solomon looked at him suspiciously. He knew him to be the ring leader of all mischief that the paranormal kids caused. True Charlie, Angel, and Vaggie were more than capable of causing trouble on their own, they were definitely not forced or pressured into it but Alastor was the one who gave them the ideas. In other words if trouble was a dish, they would be the cooks and Alastor would be the recipe.
"I mean it." He said sternly. "No trouble."
The half demon boy nodded innocently. Solomon then dismissed the children to their rooms and left for his meeting. About five minutes after he was gone, Charlie heard a knock at her door. She opened it to find Vaggie, Angel, and Alastor standing their with blankets, a few flashlights, and some books.
"What are you guys doing here?" She asked. "Solomon we had to go straight to bed."
"We are. We're going to straight to your bed." Angel said. "He never said we had to go straight to our own beds."
"Not our fault if he wasn't specific enough." Vaggie said.
"I don't think we should be doing this." Charlie said. "You guys know how Solomon feels about us sharing a bed together. He says boys and girls shouldn't sleep together."
"Well we're not sleeping." Alastor said. "We're going to build a bed fort and read. Perfectly harmless."
"I still feel like we're going to get into trouble for this."
"Come on Charlie, lighten up." Angel said.
"Besides we brought one of your favorites. Charlotte's Web." Alastor said.
"But Al I thought you hated that book." She said. "You think it's a bad idea to humanize animals even in fiction, because you think it'll influence animal rights activists."
"Yeah but you like the book so I don't care."
"What do you have against animal rights activists anyway?" Vaggie asked him. "I think they're doing a noble cause."
"Me too." Angel said. "Pigs are people too."
"No they're not. They're pigs. I don't like them because they value animals over other beings like humans and demons."
"Pretty sure they don't even know demons are real." Angel said.
"Well either way there's a reason why we are at the top of the food chain and it's because we eat animals. We dominate them and we don't let them dominate us. It's the natural order of things."
"Ever hear of changing nature?" Vaggie asked.
"Ever hear of don't play God?"
"Oh boy here we go." Angel said rolling his eyes.
"Just because something is natural doesn't always mean it's good and that it shouldn't be changed."
"Well there are somethings in nature that shouldn't be changed. I'm all for evolution but there are somethings that just need to be left alone. Such as man on top and animal on the bottom."
"Oh man on top huh? And where does that leave the woman exactly?"
"I meant man as in human."
"Right." She said sarcastically. "I'm sure that you would definitely object to misogynistic views. Mr. Southern Gentleman."
