At the moment, Solomon was in his office looking over the health results that Moxxie had sent him. Results from annual check ups that were made to Solomon, the other agents, and the four paranormal beings he had been raising for the last 25 years.
Per usual Charlie, Alastor, Vaggie, and Angel were perfectly healthy though Alastor could eat less red meat and Angel could lay off the smoking a bit. Per usual Moxxie, Millie, and Blitzo were healthy as well but Blitzo could also cut back on his smoking habits. And per usual Solomon had high blood pressure, arthritis, and a heart that was getting more fragile with each passing day.
"In this condition, heaven only knows how much longer I'll last." He sighed. "Hopefully I'll last as long as I need to."
He switched over to study the results of blood work, genetic, and D.N.A tests for Charlie and the other three. He did this just to make sure they didn't have any mutant genes or some bizarre change in their D.N.A. Normally the results came back with saying that there was no change in each of their blood, genes, or D.N.A. However on this time he found something quite unusual.
"Partial D.N.A match?" He read confused. "Partial D.N.A match to what?"
He turned on the lamp on his desk and cleaned his glasses, making sure that he was not misreading things.
"Traces of human genes from paternal side? What? Where did this come from?"
He studied the words carefully, trying to piece together what they meant.
"This doesn't make any sense." He thought. "How...How is this even possible?"
Just then the phone on his desk started to ring. He answered it quickly.
"Hello?...Charlotte? Long time since you called here. Is anything wrong?....What? A gecko demon?...A giant gecko demon?...Yes I'll send back up immediately but where are you?...You're with them?...Okay don't panic, tell Alastor and the others to keep out of sight, and if possible try to get your hands on liquid nitrogen or something like that...Because demon or not, a gecko is still a reptile and all reptiles are cold blooded. Extreme cold might be able to slow him down...Alright be careful."
He hung up and quickly called for the other agents to lend their assistance. As for Charlie and her friends, when she told them what Solomon said, the guys immediately dived behind a small corner where broken cars had landed. There they quietly waited, holding their breath, until the demon gecko went passed them. The plan worked.
"Phew!" Angel sighed in relief. "That was close."
"Don't breathe just yet." Alastor said. "We still have to find a way to slow that thing down and try to prevent any more destruction and carnage to help arrives. Let's see if we can find liquid nitrogen or anything related to it like Solomon suggested."
"Roger that Smiles."
"Angel I can ypu out me down now." Vaggie said, still being carried over Angel's shoulder.
"Not until I know for sure you're not going to do something crazy like try to fight that thing by yourself." Angel said. "I don't want a repeat of the bat in the belfry incident."
"Bat in the belfry?" Charlie said. "I'm not familiar with that one."
"It was last winter." Alastor explained. "An abandoned Victorian school house was being remodeled into a college but a giant bat demon had taken residence in the belfry and it was feasting on construction workers left and right. Vaggie insisted that she could handle the demon alone while Angel and I would divert bystanders."
"Unfortunately it somehow slipped Vaggie's mind that moths happen to be an ideal snack for bats." Angel said. "So the overgrown rat with wings, snatched her up and carried her off. We were up all night looking for her."
