With the monster who attacked that evening, being destroyed, Solomon and Blitzo decided to go back to the crime scene and investigate what had led to such an attack and where that atrocity had come from. Their crew collected all potential carriers of D.N.A and brushed up information on what was stolen from the shattered display case.
"From what we learned." A fellow agent told Solomon. "This display case harbored a literary item known as Satan's Journal."
"Satan's Journal?" Solomon gasped. "Lord save me, I had hoped that was a myth."
"What is it?" Blitzo asked.
"It contains written records of every entry, plan, and spell Satan ever thought of in his twisted mind. Lucifer and Beelzebub even wrote a few chapters in there. It's practically a manual for evil. How anyone on earth could ever want to preserve such a God forsaken book, is beyond me. But perhaps this is not as dangerous as I fear."
"What do you mean?"
"The book is written in an ancient language that has been forgotten by the human world. Though some vaticans still learn it in order to understand the secret messages that demons would pass to each other."
"Father Karras." Another agent approached him. "We found this among the broken glass. It was next to a note instructing that it be given to you and that you'd recognize it."
The agent placed a plastic bag into Solomon's hand. It contained rosary beads. Rosary beads that Solomon would know anywhere. At first glance, he dropped the bag and trembled. Trembled so hard that his glasses slipped from his face and he almost lost his footing.
"Solomon what's wrong?" Blitzo said ready to catch the man if he fell.
Solomon could barely form words.
"No...No..." He found it hard to breathe. "No...Not him...Please God not him...Don't let it be him please."
Blitzo had never seen him like this before. His skin as white as a ghost, his eyes holding full of sheer terror, his heart beating so loud and quick that it could be heard from those outside his body. He was afraid. He was very, very, afraid.
"Who? Who are you talking about?" Blitzo asked.
"I gave those exact rosary beads to Dominik Pentious when we graduated the Vatican together. It was a family heirloom, there are no other beads like it which can only mean one thing. He's back."
"You mean the fanatic who tried to takeover the world?"
"No Blitzo he was no fanatic. On the contrary he had forsaken both God and the church. But leaving our faith was not enough to satisfy the anger and hurt he felt."
Blitzo quickly sat him down in a nearby chair.
"Calm down." Blitzo said. "Remember your blood pressure."
"He's come back for them. I know he has." He turned desperate. "Where is Alastor?"
"Back at the bureau."
"Are you sure?! Really sure?!"
"I just got a call confirming that he was in his room."
"Then that leaves only Charlotte unprotected. We must get to her immediately."
"Why? She's half angel, he's just a man, what harm could he do to her?"
"Pentious is not just a man Blitzo. You can't even fathom what he became capable of after he left us. After what those terrorist did to him. They broke not only his faith but his sense of reason."
"Take it down a notch Solomon, you're creepin me out."
"Good! You should be scared! He's not someone to be taken lightly!"
