When Alastor awoke, he was drenched in sweat. Normally nightmares didn't bother him very much, but something about this one greatly disturbed him. That unseen voice and the fear on Charlie's face. It all seemed so real. And there was something in particualr that stuck out in is mind.

Did you ever find it interesting how Solomon found and adopted both the daughter of Lucifer and the son of Beelzebub? That you both just happened to be in the same place, at the same time, when he discovered you?"

Alastor never thought about it until now, but it was rather coincidental that he and Charlie were found by Solomon at the exact same time. You see, according to rare but accurate documents regarding Hell, Lucifer and Beelzebub despite sharing the same views and beliefs were complete opposites. For starters Lucifer was beautiful while Beelzebub was monstrous. Lucifer was a natural born leader, orignally from Heaven, impulsive, always tired to blame someone else for his sins, was extremely proud, could appeal to humans, and was actually capable of sincere love. Beelzebub on the other hand was more patient, calculating, spawned in Hell, could esaily admit that he was evil incarnate, terribly wrathful and sadistic, couldn't understand or rather wouldn't, and incable of any empathy or love.

They had a very powerful rivalry and it was stemmed from the fact that Satan had orignally intended to choose Beelzebub to rule over the nine kingdoms of Hell but Lucifer had managed to use charisma to sway Satan's decision in his favor. Unlike Beelzebub, Lucifer was very good at winning over crowds. That included humans and demons. He would have faired much better in obtaining allies for the dark lord, so Satan chose him instead. The two evil entities had not been able to be in the same room with each other ever since. In fact you could say that they hated each other more than they hated God. So how their children ended up found in the same area shortly after birth was highly unlikely.

Now of course Beelzebub could have cared less what happened to any of his offsrping, but Lucifer for all his fualts, had some form of care and love for his family, and he wouldn't have wanted Charlie anywhere near anyone or anything involved with Beelzebub. Even if it was the demon's harmless, newborn son.

Another thing was that according to the records, Charlie was born in Maine and had been left at the orphanage there while Alastor's mother had been living in her childhood hometown, Lousiana, during her pregnancy. They had been miles apart so how did Alastor's mother end up giving birth to him in the same place Charlie was found?

Knock-knock!

"Who is it?" Alastor called.

"It's me." It was Solomon. "May I come in?"

"Sure."

The door to his room was opened and in walked Solomon.

"I could hear you breathing very hard." He said. "I thought maybe you were having a bad dream. Was I right?"

"It was nothing. Just some disturbing images that don't make any sense."

"I've had my fair share of those. It comes with the job. Do you want to talk about them?"

"No. But I would like to talk about something."

"What's on your mind?"

"Where did you find me and Charlie?"

"What do you mean?"

"I know that the day you found Charlie was the same day I was born. Where was that exactly? Was it in Lousiana? Or Maine?"

"Well neither. I found you two on Mount Saint Elias, up in Alaska."

"But Charlie was left at the orphanage in Maine and my mother was in Lousiana while pregnant. How did we end up in Alaska?"
