They hid themselves on top of an abandoned building. There Vaggie and Angel kept watch while Charlie tended to Alastor's wound. Because he was half demon a regular bullet wouldn't do much damage to him, but Charlie didn't want to leave anything to chance. Before continuing any further, she wantd to make sure that he would at least be fine until back up arrive.
"Guys can we hurry up with the first aid?" Vaggie said. "I'm not sure how much longer we'll be safely hidden up here."
"Relax sweet wings." Angel said, taking this opportunity to grab a quick smoke. "The cops aren't going to come looking for us up here and the giant gecko probably hasn't given us a second thought. So while things are calm at the moment, how about we catch up with our half angelic friend here? How are ya Charlie? Anything new?"
"Apart from being dragged into this again?" Charlie smiled. "No. Nothing new at all."
"To be fair toots, the job isn't really any fun without you. We miss the good old days."
"We miss you." Vaggie said. "We know that you write to us and we always read your letters but, it's not the same."
"I know." Charlie said remorsefully. "I'm sorry, I meant to visit more often. Really I did, but with the job and paying the bills, and trying to fit in. It takes a lot of priority."
"We understand hon." Vaggie assured her.
"I'll make time to visit. I promise I will."
"You better keep that promise." Alastor said. "Because if you don't, all three of us will just have to come visit you at your apartment."
"Don't even joke about that." Charlie said, wiping away the blood from Alastor's wound, with a tissue from her pocket. "All three of you would be caught and shipped up to Area 51. I'd never be able to go on living if that happened."
She took a closer look at the wound.
"Wow this bullet is lodged in deep." She observed.
"Don't worry my dear." Alastor said. "For someone like me, this is no more harmful than a splinter."
"Still it doesn't hurt to make sure, that's as harmful as it gets." She applied pressure with the tissue and her eyes began scanning around for anything she could use as a bandage. "You're also bleeding."
"I'm not going to lose too much blood."
"Well how do you know? You're not a doctor."
"Neither are you, but you still try to play doctor. I can still remember the first time you did it. We were eight, playing outside, and I had fallen out of the old sycamore tree and bumped my head. You made such a huge fuss. Trying to cover my entire head in bandaids."
"I was scared. I thought you had broken your skull."
"The fact that I could still speak in coherent sentences should have tipped you off that I was fine."
"You said so yourself, we were eight. Eight year olds do a lot of silly things. Like climbing to the top of a sycamore tree when Solomon had told us a hundred times not to. He told us that we were too little and that we would hurt ourselves. And he was right. I hope you didn't forget how mad he was at you."
"No I didn't. Once he knew for sure that I only sustained a few brusies, he was ready to kill me."
"It's a miracle that you didn't drive him to an early grave."
"Oh-ho, well aren't we being the little hypocrite right now." Alastor teased. "There have been times where you gave him high blood pressure."
"Like when?"
