Chapter 37

Sheryl

All week I had watched as Krystel sat by herself, she looked so lost and lonely. I wanted to go over and be her friend again, but how was I to know she wouldn't just go back to Emily and turn into a bitch again. It wasn't easy staying away from her though when all I wanted to do was cuddle her and tell her things would be ok. Just as I was leaving school I noticed Emily and nina, bullying someone as usual. If there was one thing I couldn't stand in life it was bullies! Then I noticed it was krys they were laughing at, I considered just walking away and letting them deal with whatever was going on until I heard a slap. I turned around and seen Emily about to hurt krys again, so I marched straight over and put her in her place. She soon disappeared, I don't think she was used to people standing up to her. The slap must of been pretty hard because krystels face was pretty red.

"Take it loves young dream is over?" I asked.

"Could say that" she whispered sadly.

"You ok?"

"Yeah, thanks for helping me"

"Let me drive you home, she might be out there waiting" I said, I didn't want anything to happen to her. When we pulled into krystels drive her her mum was standing there, I she smiled and waved. I did like her mum, she was so sweet.

"I miss you Sheryl" I wanted to say I missed her too. I did miss her but it wasn't that easy.

"It's a pity it took you and your girlfriend breaking up to make you realise that krys. Have a nice weekend."

"Thanks again, and thanks for the lift" she said shutting the door. She looked sad as I pulled out the drive and made my way home. I was going to meet nick and his girlfriend at the student bar tonight and I was quite looking forward to it.

I got to the bar about 8ish, I was looking forward to having a few drinks and a nice night. Walking in the bar I noticed nick straight away, sitting in his usual spot. Justin and joey were there too along with mystery girl. I made my way over and sat down.

"Hey guys" I said sitting down.

"Hey Sheryl, this is Jenny" nick smiled introducing us. I smiled, Jenny was a really pretty girl, dark hair and dark eyes, lovely smile.

"Hi Jenny, it's great to finally meet you. We've heard so much about you"

"All good I hope" she smiled.

"Of course" I grinned, standing up to go get a drink.

"You sit down Sheryl, I'm getting the drinks, usual? " justin asked.

"Thanks justin" joey went to the bar with him to help. I couldn't help but notice how nervous nick looked.

"So, what music are you into Jenny?" I asked making conversation.

"Umm.. I like a bit of everything. I love old stuff and new stuff. What about you?"

"Yeah I like everything mostly, gotta say I have a soft spot for eminem though" as soon as I said that she laughed.

"No way! I love him too, we will get on fine" she grinned. Justin came back putting the drinks down.

"Krystels here Sheryl, she's over there and some guy is chatting her up"

"You're joking! What is she playing at." I thanked justin for my drink drank some. Why was she doing this to herself. I just didn't get it. We sat for a while and had a few drinks, getting to know Jenny, who seemed very nice. I kept my eye on krys though, I wish I didn't worry as much. About half an hour before last orders I noticed she was leaving with the guy.

"Excuse me guys, I'll be back in a minute" I said and got up to follow her. I followed them out to the car park and tried to listen to their conversation.

"Aw c'mon baby, come back to mine. It's only a five minute drive and I'll show you a good time" I walked straight over to them before krys even had the chance to answer him.

"No chance mate! Come on krys, I'll take you home"

"Whatever bitch, she's coming with me, aren't you?" Ugh what an idiot, this guy was a total sleaze. I walked closer to Krystel and dragged her away.

"I'm taking you home!" She didn't say anything. The guy she was with got in a car and sped off somewhere.

"Please don't make me go home, I can't face mum and dad, they will hate me, just like everyone else."

"Fine, you can stay at mine tonight." I wasn't happy, I wished she'd stop putting herself in these situations. When we got back to mine nobody was in. I got some water and took krys up to my room.

"Here, you can wear this to bed" I said handing her some pjs. I left the room do she could get changed. When I thought she'd had enough time to get changed I went back in and she was laying in my bed, she looked so cute, I just wanted to jump in beside her. Instead I sat on the bed next to her, we both said nothing for a few minutes until I moved some hair that was covering her face, tucking it behind her ear. I noticed the tears falling.

"I've made such a mess of my life, everyone hates me and its all my own fault."

"Nobody hates you krys, please don't cry." I couldn't stand seeing her crying.

"Nobody talks to me in school, my own parents prefer you to me. I have nobody. It's really getting to me Sheryl."

"You have me, we might not always get on but if you are ever in trouble you know ill always be here."

"I miss you Sheryl, I've never felt more alone, it's horrible" she started really crying. I didn't know what to do.

"Krys.. I miss you too.. I don't want you to be like this! I want you to go back to how you used to be."

"Please sleep beside me tonight" she said. I wanted to more than anything, but instead I got up and walked to the door.

"Goodnight Krys" I said shutting the door. I got some spare quilts and made a bed up on the couch for the night..,
