My New Best Friend

Chapter 55

Well it was Thursday now, the longest week of my life was almost coming to end. This week had proved just how much I wanted to be with Sheryl, I wanted her to be my girlfriend. I knew Sheryl didn't want to rush into anything though, so I was happy enough with the way things were going for now.

I didn't mind Thursdays at school, I had 2 free periods so decided to go to the library and do something productive rather than going home for a while.

"Hey krys, you still up for tonight?" Justin called from behind me. I slowed down and gave him time to catch up with me.

"Yeah definitely.. Looking forward to it"

"Good, I was thinking we could go bowling first then for something to eat?"

"Sure"

My first couple of classes went past really quickly, I was hoping the library wouldn't be that busy and I was in luck because when I got there it was empty except from one person.. Good, I could just get on with it.

"Oh god Krys I forgot how bad you were at bowling " Justin laughed.

"Shut up, I'm doing it on purpose so you win. That's just how nice I am"

We played the best out of three and obviously I lost, bowling wasn't exactly my strong point but it was still fun. We played on some of the arcade machines before going to get something to eat. I beat Justin five times in a row at the car racing, he was a bit more competitive than me so he wasn't really amused.

We went to this little 60's cafe in town, i loved it in there. It wasn't that busy which was good because I was so hungry I didn't. Fancy waiting ages. I ordered a normal cheese burger and Justin ordered the billy buster burger and some milkshakes.

"First time I've been in here, it feels like I'm in an old movie or something.. It's weird" he smiled.

"Yeah but weird in a good way.. Lets go put some songs on the juke box"

We decided on the beach boys, Frankie Valli and Dean Martin. If I'd left it to Justin he would of just put the supremes on and I couldn't deal with him getting all hyper. Our food didn't take long at all, I burst out laughing as soon as the woman put Justin's burger in front of him.. It was huge!

"Good job you're hungry"

"I didn't expect it to be twice the size of my head, you'll have to help me"

"I'm sure you'll manage it.. Just take your time"

"I miss hanging out with you like we used to krys"

I missed it too, I guess quite a lot had changed recently. That was probably mostly my fault though with the whole Emily thing. I didn't want to think that we'd all finish school and go our separate ways like most people did, it was hard to find good friends now.

"I miss it too.. I hope we all stay friends, you know when we finish school and stuff. Do you think we will?"

"Yeah I do.. So tell me what's going on with you and Sheryl? You know I won't say anything" he opened his mouth really wide before taking a massive bite of his burger.

I knew he wouldn't say anything, he trusted me when he wanted to tell someone he was gay.

"I like her so much jus, I've missed her so much this week"

"Does she like you?"

"Well we have been on a date"

I could tell he wanted to say something but he had to swallow his food first, I'd never seen anybody chew quite so fast before.
