Krystel

Monday morning soon came round and I was running late so I did not have time for breakfast. I overslept because I was up half the night thinking about Sheryl. I had left hers before she woke up yesterday morning and we hadn't spoken or text all day. Well, Sheryl had texted me twice but I never replied. I left because I knew she would feel awkward about the kiss and I didn't want that. I couldn't avoid her for much longer though as I was approaching school now. I noticed Nick standing at the gate so made my way over to him.

"Hey Nick," I said tapping him on the shoulder.

"Hi Krys, how was your weekend?" he said smiling. We both turned to walk into the school together.

"Yeah, it was good. Yours?" I asked scanning the place looking for Sheryl.

"Spent most of it under a car working, so it could of been better."

The bell rang signalling the start of classes so we headed straight to class. My first class was English, I enjoyed English the best. My worst subject was maths, numbers are like a foreign language to me.

At lunch I was starving so I went to get some food. It was Monday so the boys wouldn't be in lunch hall, they had training on Mondays. I got my usual and looked around for a seat, I noticed Sheryl sitting at the corner table, she had her back to me. I could just leave and she wouldn't notice. No, I couldn't just leave her sitting there, what's wrong with me? Heading over to the table, I got a little nervous. Sitting down opposite her, I smiled.

"Hey"

"Hi," she said, not smiling.

"Everything alright?" I asked, sensing she wasn't in the best mood.

"Fine," she said, not looking at me.

We sat in silence for a few minutes, I knew she was annoyed at me. I didn't like it.

"What's wrong, Sheryl?"

"Oh I don't know Krys! You kissed me and we agreed it's fine then when I wake up and you've left before 7am. You then chose to ignore me all day. I'm actually surprised you came over to sit with me. I don't get you!"

She was right, there was no need for me to leave that early and ignore her all day.

"I didn't want you to feel awkward Sheryl. I'm sorry," I said apologetically.

"Fuck off, Krystel! If you knew me at all you'd know it wouldn't be awkward. You obviously feel weird about it for whatever reason but don't worry, I'll stay out of your way. Can't have you feeling awkward now, can we?" she said sarcastically and got up and walked away. Suppose that was deserved really, I'm such an idiot.

After school I met up with Justin, I didn't tell him anything that happened, we just went for a milkshake. I didn't stay for too long as I had a ton of studying to do, the joys!

Walking through the front door I looked at the time. It was 6.30pm. My mum and dad were in the living room.

"Your dinner's in the micro, sweetie. Didn't know you'd be a bit later," mum shouted.

"Thanks mum!" I shouted back. I ate my dinner and and went up to do some school work. All I kept thinking about was Sheryl though. I enjoyed that kiss, I didn't want to end up falling for her because I know we will never in a million years be together. I checked my phone for the hundredth time, was hoping to hear from her but she was obviously still angry. I decided to text her.

{hey, I'm really sorry! I'm an idiot. I miss u Sheryl. Xxx}

Looking back at my books I tried to switch off and just get some studying done.

The next time I looked at the clock it was 10pm. Sheryl still hadn't texted me back. That wasn't surprising really, I wasn't expecting her to. Yawning, I got up and stretched and got ready for bed.

The next day Sheryl and I never spoke to each other. I spent most of the day listening to Nick talking about a girl he likes, I suppose it was a distraction.

"So where's Sheryl anyway? You two are normally always together?"

I looked at Nick for a minute before answering, "We are not always together, she stayed over at mine last night, she'll be about somewhere," I lied.

"Do you fancy going to the movies tonight? I need a night off studying," Nick said.

I thought about it, what else was I gonna do, sit in my room and study/think about Sheryl. "Yeah sure, sounds good," I smiled.

Nick and I went to the movies that night then for something to eat. I was really tired when I got home so just went straight to bed.

This week had dragged in, by the time Friday came I was just excited about staying in and not seeing anybody after school. Sheryl was still being off with me so I just left it. Only 6 more hours and I could hibernate for the weekend. God, I'm so sad!
