The next few weeks went past very quickly for me, maybe it was because I was actually busy now. I was enjoying my job and it felt great earning some money. Shane and I were dating but to be honest I wasn't too sure about the whole thing anymore. He was alright but I never felt that spark. I didn't really miss him when he wasn't there. He wanted to move our relationship to the next level now and was constantly hinting about sleeping together. I'm not gonna be pressured into anything like that! He was also a bit clingy and I hadn't been spending as much time with Krys because he didn't like it. I didn't know what to do, but we couldn't go on like this. My dad was gone for another week, but Natalie would pop in sometimes whilst he was gone to check on me. I liked Nat, she was sweet and her and my dad really cared for each other.

Laying on the couch, I was bored and watching some Friday night chat shows. Well I wasn't really watching it, I was thinking about Krys, wondering what she was doing. I missed her. My phone went off and it made me jump. It was a text from Shane.

{Hey gorgeous, I know ur alone tonight. Fancy some company? ;) x}

Ugh, it was obvious what he wanted.

{I'm actually really tired, just heading to bed.x}

I wasn't in the mood.

{Stop being so frigid, U have made me wait for ages. Let's do it!x}

Was he for real? I was getting angry now. If he thought I was going to sleep with him after he'd just said that he was seriously kidding himself.

{Have u been drinking? I'm goin to bed. Night}

He didn't text me back after that, it's not like I cared that much.

I dialed Krystel's number.

{Hello?} She answered sleepily.

{Hey, it's me. Did I wake you?} I heard her yawning.

{I must of dozed off but I'm up now though. You ok?}

{Are you sure? I'll let you go back to sleep if you want?} I said hoping she wouldn't.

{No, I'm wide awake} She laughed. {aso what are you up to? I thought you'd be out with loverboy?}

{Nope, all alone. Watching rubbish on TV. I was just thinking about you and wondering what you were doing. I miss you.}

{Wel,l I was on the laptop but I fell asleep with it on my lap. I miss you, too. I know you've been busy though.}

I felt bad. I wasn't the type of friend who ditches their friend when they get a boyfriend. That just wasn't me.

{I'm sorry, I've gotta talk to you, so do you wanna meet up tommorow? Meet me in the park about 1?}

{Yeah, I'll be there. Is everything ok?}

{Yeah everything's fine. Just wanna see you. So is that you up for the night? Or will you go straight back to sleep?}

{Pff I don't know, knowing my luck I will be awake all night now. If I'd known you didn't have plans you could have came over.}

{That would have been nice. I'll see you tommorow though.}

{You sure will, so where's Shane?}

{Ugh god knows, I think he's drunk. He just texted me saying he'd come round but I know he's only coming around for sex, so I told him not to bother.}

{Maybe he just wants a cuddle, you do give the best cuddles.}

I couldn't help but smile to myself.

{Do I really? Nah, I know what he was after, anyway I think he's in a mood with me now. So childish. Guys can be so immature sometimes don't you think?}

The line went quiet.

{Hello?...Krys?}

There was nothing, then I heard heavy breathing and light snoring. She'd fallen asleep on me. That made me laugh. I listened to her sleeping for a minute. I didn't want to hang up but I did eventually then went to bed myself.

Krystel was sitting on the grass under a tree. I walked over towards her, she looked good. She always did. One of those people who looked good without even trying. Lucky bitch, I thought to myself.

"Hi, you ok?" I said sitting down beside her. She smiled at me.

"I'm great thanks, you?"

"I'm good, thanks for falling asleep on me last night. Charming you are," I laughed.

"Well, falling asleep on you can't be a bad thing can it?" she smiled. I liked it when she was a bit flirty with me.

"I don't know, you tell me" I smiled back. Then my phone went off. I took it out and read it.

{Sorry about last night babe. Let me come over and make it up to you? I'll make it special for u, promise!x}

I just ignored it and put it back in my pocket.

"You ignoring somebody?" she asked looking at me.

"Shane...I just wanted to talk to you properly. I know I see you at school but we haven't spent much time together recently. He doesn't like me spending too much time with you for some reason."

I studied her face, she didn't look upset or angry. A bit confused maybe.

"That's just weird, Sheryl. How are you two getting on anyway?"

I looked over at the river then back to Krystel.

"Okay, I suppose, we haven't slept together yet and he's not too happy about it. He called me frigid last night because I wouldn't let him come round. Now he's just text saying sorry and he will make it special tonight. Am I being unreasonable?"

"'Course not! Don't let him make you feel bad. If you're not ready then you're not ready. And if he can't wait then he's not worth it, babe," I smiled at her.

"That's the first time you've called me babe" I grinned at her. She blushed a little.

"Is it? I'm sorry. I didn't mean it," she said quickly.

"Oh that's a shame 'cause I liked it," I winked.

"That's good 'cause I did mean it," She mumbled and I laughed.

"You're very cute, Krystel. I think you're right though. He's definitely not worth it. I want somebody who will wait until I'm ready. I don't really think it's working anyway. I'm gonna have to talk to him. I'm dreading that."

"Try not to worry about it. You will find somebody a million times better when the time's right."

"You always make me feel better, I can't believe I let him get in the way of our friendship. Bet you thought I was a bitch," I said pulling out the grass. I don't know why but everytime I sat on grass I pulled it out.

"Nah, I just thought you were all loved up. I was happy that you were happy. I missed you though. Our little texts and calls at night. I always feel better when you're around."

"Aww that's sweet. Well, I obviously bored you last night when you fell asleep on me," I laughed.

"Oh, shut up you." She hit my arm playfully.

"Do you wanna go to the cinema?"

"Yeah, okay." She smiled. I got up and put my hand out.

"Come on, let's go," I answered nonchalantly.

Krystel looked at me happily and took my offered hand.

"Yeah, let's go."
