"Bro, you're spacing out. Are you listening to me?"

I turned my gaze to Brian, my cousin. We were sitting in the corner inside a coffee shop.

I slowly nodded. "Of course, you said you'll transfer to another school. I thought you liked it here. Why?" I asked, a little bit worried. "Are you okay?" I added. He gave me a slight nod, but he didn't look fine to me.

"I had to... my Mom is sick, and I'm the only one she has. Fuck that bastard for leaving us." he gritted his teeth, pertaining to his father.

Now I'm really worried. "How's Tita?"

"She's... not okay." His eyes were gloomy as he looked down.

"I guess it's run in the blood, huh?" I sadly said and looked away. I don't want to ask more questions because he might feel more depressed. Besides, we decided to meet to catch up on our things. Then he started opening up about his problems. I live in New York and am only here for a vacation since It's summer.

I saw someone from afar happily talking with her friends. She caught my attention. Wait, that school uniform... "Bro, do you know that girl over there?" I asked since both of them were wearing the same school uniform.

He also glanced at where I was looking to see who I was referring to. His face was quite surprised, and he turned to me immediately. "Why?"

"She just looked... pretty interesting." I couldn't help but smile.

He cleared his throat. "Hanggang kelan ka rito?" He asked, so I turned my gaze back at him.

"After summer, maybe? Nathan offered me a part-time job." It was a Gig. He wanted me to join him as a drummer in Luca's band, his younger brother and a close friend of mine. I'm going to accept it.

"So you will stay longer?"

"I guess so..." I answered while still staring at the girl outside. Taga rito ba 'yan? Kung taga rito siya baka nga... mas magtagal pa ako rito.

"Akala ko ba bakasyon lang ang pinunta mo rito," komento niya.

I scoffed. "Not anymore."

"Openfield cinema?" I asked Jim.

"Summer ngayon at may pa event sa Big Dome. May isa pa kong ticket dito. Sama ka?" tanong niya.

I'm bored and don't have other things to do, so I accepted his offer. When we arrived at the Big Dome, a bunch of people was already lining up to go inside.
