Episode 17: Snowballs

Vi's brother and sister volunteered to stay back in the inn to watch their daughter and Chiko. They didn't want the toddlers to get sick from being out in the snow.

Star had a big smile on his face as he ran out of the inn.

"Be careful," his taller brother said.

Star stuck his tongue out.

"Don't come crying to us if you get hurt." Alice's mom sighed in exasperation.

"What did he say?" Sky asked.

"I'll be fine."

Star made strange motions with his hands.

"A snowball fight?" Noah laughed. "Sounds like fun."

"I'll be right back," Hannah said. "I want to grab my son."

Thyst raised her eyebrows. "If you mean who I think you do, then good luck." She had a mischievous glint in her eyes. "You should grab your brother while you're at it."

Hannah shook her head. "I'll be right back."

It was only a few minutes before Hannah popped back in. She had Enji and a boy Alice hadn't met before.

Thyst looked like she was about to fall back. "That was fast."

Alice giggled. "Oh, right. He's a mama's boy like Kai and Sky."

Thyst furrowed her eyebrows. "How would you know that?"

"I went to their house when you and Dad went to that dance with Vi and Kai."

"I see."

Sky went up to their mom. "Do you have any hand shoes?"

"What?" Ran asked.

Kai pulled a pair out of his pocket and smiled. "Hand shoes!"

Hannah giggled. "We call those gloves." Hannah offered the boy a pair.

"Thanks, big sis."

Enji walked over to a chair the inn had outside.

Alice smiled as she approached him. "Is it okay if I join you?"

He furrowed his eyebrows before patting the chair.

"I'm glad to see you're doing better."

"Huh?"

Alice smiled. "You weren't feeling very well the last time I saw you, so I'm glad you're doing better."

"Oh yeah... After Atty..."

"What were you doing when Hannah grabbed you? Working?"

Enji shook his head. "I just had dinner."

"Oh? What did you have?"

"Tuna casserole. Ivy promised to make it if I came over."

"You were off today then?"

"Betty made me take the day off cuz it's Saturday and Vi's birthday."
