As much as the young kids were excited upon finding a shiny book, the older ones knew that there was something up. This book didn't look like it belonged here."Should we just put it back. This book looks fishy," Tejas suggested warily.
"All the more reason for us to open and see what it is about," Sarah said, rolling her eyes. For her panicking over a book was a overkill.
"But the language used is different." Dhruv pointed out, having already turned around the pages in excitement.
"So what? We have a language translator machine in my Dad's office. Let's put the book in the machine and check out what it means," their temporary leader, Rewa, suggested.
Everyone nodded and followed her. They tiptoed, looking left and right, before getting out of the room.
"Let's not use the lift. I heard from my brother that they are minimizing and keeping a track of its use to conserve electricity. We would be caught within the second we press the button," Tejas, the eldest of the group said, when he saw the team leader's daughter going towards the elevator.
Rewa nodded and back tracked towards the group. "Let's use the stairs," she said with a sigh, earning a collective groan from the small kids. They loved the moving machine.
"Sssh!" She placed a finger on her lips, gesturing to them to be dead silent.
The children nodded obediently and then everyone resumed walking. Most of them removed their sandals to avoid the click-clack noise.
After a lot of hiding, tip-toeing, they finally reached the team leader's office.
"Dammit! It is locked. How are we going to enter?" Jhanvi, an eleven year old whisper yelled.
Another round of groans was heard. All this effort for nothing.
"Chill guys. I wouldn't have brought you here without planning anything.99% of the time, Dad puts my birth date as password. So we just need to hope that this lock isn't one of the unlucky 1%," their temporary team leader assured.
They all waited with bated breath, as she tried to put in the password. Everyone released huge sighs of relief as the door opened with one click.
They entered the room and the last one to enter quickly closed the door. However, he didn't expect his force. The loud thud sound of the door closing made them wince. They all stood still for a few seconds but then relaxed when no one came in to see what was happening.
"Let's hurry," one of them said, and they started searching for the machine.
It was near the small sofa that was placed near the window of the office. Taking out a printer-like machine, they placed it on a small table and crowded around it- the younger one's standing and the elder one's crouched on their knees.
Taking a huge breath of air for courage, Rewa started the machine.
She placed the cover of the book inside, while carefully holding the whole book and read out the translated version of the title.
"Sharing the world with Elements."
The teenagers huffed in disbelief after seeing the title.
"All these efforts were for nothing." Manav, a thirteen year old guy said in frustration.
