Giving out the log to the last group, Ahana puffed out some air, ready to get out of the place.
Adjusting the straps of her bag, she started walking, knowing that the other would follow behind.
"Oh shit! Ahana, our bike!"
"We need to go and take it out."
Neer's words caused Ahana to stop and turn towards him with a furious glare.
"Is that piece of junk more important than your life?" She questioned through gritted teeth. Her hands tightly gripped the straps of her bag, barely managing to hold back the urge to punch him in the face.
"You know it means a lot to me. You two start walking, I will be there in a few minutes," Neer yelled out as he ran towards the mechanic shop.
Ahana cursed out loud at his idiocy. "Go die there. I don't care," she screamed, even though he was long gone.
Gyaan silently waited for Ahana to calm down herself and start walking, before falling into step with her.
"You surprised me today. I didn't think you would use your powers after blatantly saying no to help," Gyaan spoke out.
He didn't need to whisper as there was no threat to the exposure of her power. They could see the villagers moving, but there was still a considerable amount of distance between them.
"Don't remind me. I am already regretting it," Ahana responded, before muttering under her breath, "Should have just grabbed Neer and walked out of here."
"What compelled you to help?" Gyaan asked curiously. "I mean you never liked helping people."
"It is not that I don't help people, I just don't go out of my way to help," Ahana corrected.
"If a situation comes in front of me, I will help if it is in the area of my power. Like I have said before, I am not a superhero just because I have powers. As a fellow human being, I help where I can. But that doesn't mean I would go around the world and try to save everybody."
Gyaan shook his head with a smile at her response, before giving her his quick witted reply, "There are few human beings too who go around to help and save everyone. You don't need to be a superhero with powers to do that."
"Then why don't you go and keep an eye on them instead of following us," Ahana spoke, causing Gyaan to stop in his tracks.
"What was the meaning behind your jab?" Gyaan asked, losing his smile.
"Grandpa's last wish and all that bullshit. Cut the crap, you are here for something else altogether."
The cat was out of the bag. Sweat formed on Gyaan's forehead, as he panicked. 'Just how much does she know about me?'
Gyaan scoffed, trying to act like Ahana was speaking nonsense.
"What are you going on and on about? It's nothing like that," Gyaan laughed to ease the situation, but it sounded hollow even to him.
"I have been observing you since the very moment you made fun of us for not coming up with a better idea to save the research building," Ahana said, making Gyaan's breath hitch in his throat.
Ahana moved closer towards him, causing him to gulp. "Arrogant pricks like you look down on other people just because you are overly intelligent."
If it was possible, Ahana moved even closer, looking him in the eye with a cruel smirk on her face. "You pricks are too full of yourself that you forget one important thing; even if you are too intelligent, others aren't total fools either."
Gyaan let out a low chuckle, while taking a step back. Putting a hand inside the pocket of his jeans, he agreed with her words.
"You are right. This is a common mistake most of the smartest and strongest people make.
"They take their opponent too lightly, which ultimately leads to their downfall."
Gyaan's agreement meant only one thing to Ahana. He was here with ill intentions.
"Mr. Gyaan, don't you dare try to harm the other elements," Ahana warned with blazing eyes.
"Those three are the kind beings who can't even think about hurting a fly. But I am neither kind nor innocent like them.
"Tread carefully, because I will be watching your every step. Don't even think about harming them. You wouldn't be able to handle the repercussions.
"If you aren't already aware, then let me inform you- You have more chances to get away with God's punishment than getting away from mine. Surviving Ahana's anger is next to impossible."
"I know and I am not an idiot to make an enemy out of a firegirl," Gyaan said, raising his arms in a surrendering position. "I agree that I am here for a different purpose. I am hiding many things and have also lied about others. But that doesn't mean that I am a villain.
"I am not here to harm the elements. So you don't need to be on guard."
"Then why are you here?" Ahana asked with folded arms.
"I can't tell you the reason but trust me when I say that I have no ill intentions," Gyaan said in a hopeful tone.
"You aren't exactly trustworthy material," Ahana instantly stated, breaking his hope into tiny pieces.
"You don't have to be so brutally honest," Gyaan muttered, patting his bruised heart.
"Then keep a keen eye on me. Watch me thoroughly and decide for yourself whether I am a friend or foe," saying that Gyaan resumed his walk.
He didn't have anything else to say, knowing his explanation was going to fall on deaf ears.
Ahana walked over to Gyaan who was a few steps ahead, "Don't make a mistake Gyaan. Because that mistake would turn out to be your last mistake. Just wait until I catch you."
Satisfied by her threat, Ahana pushed past him, and definitely not before hitting his shoulder.
