"Im visiting my son"

There is an awkward silence after Chief drop his words. I looked at Kalen and he seems confused too. I got up and sat again at my wheelchair but stay close at Kalen.

"How are you Axl? I was quite worried when Onyx told me what happened."

Ngumiti naman ako sa kaniya at itinaas ang braso kong may cast.

"It stings a bit when I move my arm but other than that, I am okay Chief. Kalen here got more serious injury."

He glanced at Kalen and walked towards him. When he's standing next to Kalen's bed, he looked at his injured legs and playfully poke it.

"C-chief! What the..."

Chief chukled and turn back to his seat. He seems a little off tonight, seems like something is bothering him.

"What's wrong Chief?"

Mukhang hindi lang ako ang nakaramdam sa aura'ng binibigay niya, pati na rin si Kalen. He looked at us and give a weak smile.

"I'm just stressed about something, probably work. Don't mind me."

We didn't force him to speak up even if we know its more than just his work. Namali lang ba ako ng rinig kanina o talagang sinabi niyang binibisita niya ang anak niya? Chief has a son? I mean, all I know is Chief doesn't have family, he didn't get to marry someone after my mother left him because he's too heartbroken. Is it possible that my ears are just playing with me? But Kalen seems to hear it too.

I shrugged that thought and quietly sat there. After a while, the door opens and Nyx, Jaren and Asthan walked in.

"Oh Chief, I didn't know you're here."
Jaren greeted him as he put some foods in the bedside table.

"Yeah, I heard what happened. Did you get everything cleaned up Nyx?"

Nyx nodded and sat beside him.

"I made myself clear that they shouldn't make it too bloody, I forgot how this two never listen to me."

Jaren and Asthan laughed earning a glare from Onyx while Kalen just smirked.

"Oh yeah, we send your friend back to his apartment, he didn't get to say goodbye since you and Kalen are too cozy earlier."

I felt my cheeks burned up. I looked away and ended up meeting Kalen's eye. Mukhang nakita niya ang pamumula ko kaya nangaasar siyang nakatingin sa akin. I rolled my eyes at him.

"T-thanks." tipid kong sagot at tumango na lang si Asthan.

The night went by and we just talked about random things. But I can't help not to notice Chief's gloomy aura. Nakikipagusap siya kay Jaren pero ramdam ko pa din ang pagiging matamlay niya mula rito.

"Baby, something's bothering you?"
Kalen caught my attention and holds my hand.

"Maybe Im just tired. Is it okay if I go back to my room now? I want to sleep."

I can see that he is not convinced but nods anyway. I kissed his forehead and smiled at him. He asked his brother to help me get back to my room. Nagpaalam ako sa mga naroon at inalalayan na muli akong palabas ni Jaren.

Nang makapasok kami sa silid ay pinasalamatan ko si Jaren.

"U-uhm Jaren, can I ask something?"

Tumango naman siya habang inaayos ang hinihigaan ko.

I felt the urge to ask him since he knew Chief for a long time and maybe he knows something.

"Wala bang anak si Chief?"
