Chapter 27

Axl's POV

I woke up feeling someone gently touching my face and when I opened my eyes,  I saw Kalen. I sat down and held his hands. 

"Where have you been? I tried to call you but your phone was off. How did you know we moved places? I thought something bad happened  to you..."

He touched my face and smiled. A smile that does not reach his eyes and is mixed with sadness. I stared at his face but I could see nothing but sadness and I can't figure out why. 

"Is there something wrong? You can tell me, baby..."  

The moment I said those, tears fell from his eyes and he couldn't help but hug me. I gently caressed his back and even though neither of us spoke, this was my way of comforting him. 

I waited for him to calm down and be ready to tell me what happened but he just pulled me to bed and cudled me. Alam kong hindi siya tulog dahil nararamdaman kong nilalaro niya ang hibla ng buhok ko, gusto ko mang magtanong ay pinigilan ko muna ang sarili ko. Baka hindi ito handang magkwento sa ngayon at ayaw ko naman siyang pilitin. 

"I miss my mom Axl..." I was stunned by what he said. 

"I went to our house earlier and memories of her keep flashing before my eyes."

I felt his soft sobs again but it was not the same as earlier, he was able to control his tears now. 

"I saw my dad, but we still can't get along just like in the past. We still can't form a conversation without anger."

I want to console him but I can't find the right words for him since I never experienced being with my father. 

"You know what, daddy issues suck..." nagkatinginan kami at biglang nagtawanan. Mas lalo siyang natawa ng pagkatapos tumawa ay pasinghot singhot pa ito. I held his face and kissed him on the lips. 

"I don't know how to comfort you about your dad, but I'm always here to listen to you."

He nodded and hugged me again.

"I'm sorry if I wasn't there earlier, did someone hurt you? You alright?"

"I'm fine, your brother and Onyx never left me. Surprisingly, Lance did not try to escape and even fought with the members of the organization."

Naramdaman ko naman ang pagtango niya. 

"Good. We'll talk about this tomorrow, I'm sorry, I'm just exhausted..."

I told him that it was okay and he should rest. He smiled at me and closed his eyes while still hugging me until I heard him snoring softly. I played with his hair and never left his side until I ensured he was in deep slumber. 

"I love you..." I whispered to him, staring at his perfect face.

I didn't realize that I also fell asleep and when I woke up it was already morning. I sat and looked around realizing that Kalen is nowhere to be found. I got up and went to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. Lumabas ako ng silid ng masigurong presentable na ang itsura ko at hinanap ang mga kasama ko. Nadaanan ko ang silid ni Lance nang marinig ko ang mga boses na nangagaling doon. 

Lumapit ako ngunit wala along marinig kaya minabuti kong idikit pa ang tenga sa pinto. 

"You knew... he was a monster..."

That's Kalen. Monster? What are they talking about? Na-curious ako kaya bahagya kong binuksan ang pinto ngunit napansin ng mga nag-uusap ang ginawa ko kaya naman tinigil nila ang pag-uusap. 

"I was looking for you... What are you two talking about?" I asked Kalen. Tumingin muna ito kay Lance bago naglakad papunta sa tabi ko at hinalikan ang noo ko.
