Chapter 25

Kalen's POV

Axl is having a conversation with Nyx when I returned from meeting Lance. Nang mapansin niya ako ay ngumiti ito sa akin. He motioned me to come closer and that's when I noticed that they are discussing something. 

"Nyx found out that Mirko might be in danger. Kagabi ay may nagtangkang manloob sa bahay nila ng lola niya, luckily our men managed to take down those men without alarming the two." 

That's when what Lance said hit me. He's not kidding when he said that his child might be in danger. Halos isang linggo pa lang namin siyang bihag ngunit mabilis ang organisasyong umaksyon, sigurado akong kung mauunahan nila kami kay Mirko ay gagamitin ng mga ito ang bata laban sa amin at para na din hindi magsalita si Lance. 

"I actually went to meet Lance, hoping to get some information about the organization and this is what I found out..."

Inilabas ko ang isang maliit na recorder na inihanda ko kanina bago ako bumaba at nag-alangang iabot yon kay Nyx. Hindi ko gugustuhing makitang masaktan muli si Axl dahil sa mga maririnig niya sa recording na hawak ko. Tumingin ako sa kaniya at hinalikan ang tuktok ng ulo niya, 

"Baby, the things you will about to hear may hurt you..."

Ngumiti lang ito sa akin ngunit alam kong sa loob nito ay hinahanda ang sarili sa maaring marinig niya. Iniabot ko kay Nyx ang recording na agad naman nitong ikinabit sa laptop niya upang mas mapakinggan ng malinaw. 

While they are listening to the recording, I watched how Axl change the expression on his face, from his forced smiles earlier, it was replaced by impending tears in his eyes. I can't help but feel sorry for the things he keeps finding out about his mom. If only I could take all the pain he feels from this mess, I would. 

After listening to that, Nyx said he was going to do something. Before he left, he tried to comfort Axl who now seemed to be deep in thought.

"Axl..." mahinang tawag ko sa panagalan niya. The moment I saw his eyes, I know he's gonna break down. I scoot closer and hug him. His weak sobs grew louder and he couldn't do anything else but cry on my shoulder as I hugged him. 

"I-it hurts...m-my mom..."  he couldn't finish what he was going to say because of constant crying. 

"Shhhh...I'm here baby, it's okay. You can let it all out...I'll be right here for you."

We stayed in that position silently until Axl managed to calm down. Seeing that he was fine, I went to the kitchen to get him something to drink. 

"I don't know why mom has to go through that, Mama doesn't deserve that..."

He's no longer crying but there's still a trace of sadness in his eyes. 

"My mom used to always tell me not to worry about things that are possible and will just happen, she said that everything is for a reason."

I held his face and slowly wiped the dry tears away. Even though he cried, I couldn't figure out why he was still so beautiful in my eyes. 

I kissed his eyes and let our foreheads touch. 

"We still don't know much about the organization, but I want you to be strong in whatever comes. I'll always be here by your side to face everything. I love you." 

I kissed him gently on the lips and smiled at him afterward. 

"I love you too, Kalen."

Jaren's POV

Katatapos ko lang maligo nang pumasok naman ng silid si Nyx na bakas ang pagod at lungkot sa mata. Hinayaan ko lang muna siyang mahiga sa kama na inuukupa naming dalawa at tumuloy sa pagbibihis.
