''Lex!''

Her eyes snapped wide open and she shot up in bed. Her chest heaved with each breath and pain shot through her shoulders and abdomen, causing her to flop back down. Her back was met with warmth and comfort instead of cold and rough. Her eyes were squeezed shut and her jaw clenched tight in an attempt to relieve the pulsating pain erupting throughout her body.

''Lexi, you were shouting, are you okay?'' Lex turned her head slightly to the left, forcing one of her eyes open. Despite the agonizing pain she felt, she forced herself up and wrapped her arms around the little girl. Her ears were ringing slightly, her breathing heavy and deep. Lex felt her eyes filling to the brim with tears.

The little girl grunted and Lex hesitantly let go of her. Tears freely rolled down her cheeks as she stared at the girl with snowy hair and dark roots. Her bright, intelligent blue eyes stared into Lex's with concern and a hint of fear.

''Alexis... is that really you?...'' she muttered, running her fingers through her little sister's soft hair.

The little girl's concern and fear disappeared, replaced with slight confusion, ''Of course it's me, who else would it be? Were you dreaming of a pretty girl again?''

Lex huffed and cracked and smile, gently smacking her little sister on the side of her head. Alexis giggled and smiled bright at her older sister.

Carefully, Lex sat up. Pain shot through her abdomen and grunted. Alexis was immediately at her side, an arm wrapped around her waist. The older sister gripped onto her abdomen, trying to lessen the pain.

Lex stood up, grunting when another sharp spike of pain attacked her. She had to rely on her little sister's assistance with walking. They left the room and entered the small kitchen. She gazed around the room as Alexis sat her down in a chair. The kitchen was just as she remembered. There were few decorations other than the drawings Alexis had done when she was much smaller which were mainly meaningless scribbles of red, blue and green.

''Did you hurt yourself?'' Alexis asked, pulling a chair in front of Lex and sitting in front of her.

Hurt... myself? Lex tried to think about why she was in pain. Her memory was a bit hazy but she did manage to bring the memory back. ''I was patching up a hole in Lady Luiza's roof the other day and fell.''

Lex hissed in pain as her little sister wrapped her arms around her tightly. ''Ow! Fuck-''

''Swear.'' Alexis looked up at her older sister.

''Put it on my tab.'' Lex groaned, patting her sister's shoulder.

The day went on like any other day between the two of them. Lex had the day off due to her tumble down the roof and Alexis didn't have school. The two white haired siblings enjoyed their time together. Alexis taught her older sister how to write and read new words. Lex was started to get much better at it and was able to sound out a few different words on her own. They even played outside despite Lex's pain.

Eventually, night began to fall and it was time to retire for the night. As perusal, Lex tucked her little sister in to bed and closed the curtains. She was about to leave the room but Alexis sat up. ''Can I sleep with you tonight?''

Lex looked back at her little sister, slightly confused. Alexis gave her a pleading look similar to a puppy. The white haired woman gave her a small smile and gestured for Alexis to come with her, ''Well, come along then.''

''Can you carry me?'' she asked in a small voice. Lex scoffed with a playful chuckle before approaching her little sister. Alexis tossed her blankets off of her and smiled brightly.
