Lex ran across a large open plains, rain pouring from the sky. The storm had come seemingly out of nowhere. In the plains, there was large pieces of rusted scrap metal littering a large flat wheat field near Heisenberg Factory.

Lex had been following Ethan Winters' scent all over the village for the entire day. She looked around and found the man laying on the ground, most likely passed out. Without thinking, Lex went to searching the wreckage, not concerning herself with Winters' for now since he wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon.

She tore through different clumps of metal, unable to rely on her sense of smell due to the smoke and metal. After searching through five different piles of metal, she finally managed to find Lord Heisenberg. She grabbed him by his shoulders and pulled him from the rubble. His body was littered with scrapes, large gashes and burn marks. His coat was barely hanging onto his body, his hat had been torn away and one of the lens of his sunglasses was completely shattered, pieces of glass stuck in his skin.

She dragged the man away from the wreckage she found him in. After pulling him to safety, she looked down at him, pressing two fingers against a spot on his neck. She could feel a pulse. He was still alive. Her attention was pulled away when she saw, out of the corner of her eye, Ethan Winters getting up. She stood, looking at him. Slowly, the man turned and spotted her. The man must not have been expecting her due to his reaction.

''What the hell are you doing here?'' he asked, wiping blood from his mouth.

''You attack Family Dimitrescu and tried to take the flask by force. That wasn't part of the damn deal.''

''The deal has expired. I'm saving my daughter! I finally figured out how to do it! I don't need you anymore!'' he shouted, pointing his gun at her. Lex slowly raised her hands. ''You were going to give me up to Mother Miranda, weren't you?''

''What? How could you say that? I snuck into Castle Dimitrescu to try and find the flask. Donna let you rest in her home while I went out and stole notes from Mother Miranda! Do you realize what Mother Miranda could and will do to Donna-''

''I know. That's exactly why you would turn on me! You're scared about what will happen to her if Miranda finds out. I'm not blaming you'd, I'd do the same if I were you.'' he snarled. He was becoming paranoid.

''I was never going to turn you in! I admit it; I'm scared! Terrified! I don't want Donna hurt! I lost my little sister... I don't want to lose Donna or Angie, or anyone else! But I was never going to betray you! I suffered through an entire year of experiments because of Miranda.'' Lex's voice cracked when she said Miranda's name. She could feel her skin crawl when she remembered that year.

Winters didn't lower his gun, but it was obvious to Lex that he wasn't going to shoot. He probably wasn't going to shoot her in the first place.

''I'm sorry about your sister. But I still need to save my daughter.''

''And I'll still help you. Even after attacking Castle Dimitrescu and breaking into Donna's home, I will still help you get your daughter back. Just lower the gun and let's talk, we're both adults after all.''

Slowly, Winters started to lower his gun. In the blink of an eye, a stick erupted from the man's chest. Lex's eyes went wide as the stench of rotting blood burned her nose. The man looked down at the stick that impaled him and that had pierced his still beating heart. The stick was pulled away, the heart still stuck on its end. He stumbled forwards for a moment, eyes locked with Lex before falling limply to the ground. Behind him was the old Hag. She smiled at her before her form shifted into a wriggling mass of black and revealing who she really was.
