Donna quickly helped Karl to his feet, sending another wave of dolls at Mother Miranda. The woman had managed to bring Rosemary back but Eva's consciousness hadn't been implanted in the child yet. Earlier, Mother Miranda had told Donna that she wouldn't cause her harm since Lex had taken her spot. Donna knew Mother Miranda hurt Lex, but just didn't know the extent of her injuries.
When Mother Miranda slapped a doll out of the way, her head jerked back and caused her to stumbling.
''Miranda!'' she heard someone yell. Donna turned to see Ethan Winters. He looked awful, his hand was clutched over his chest, blood spilling to the ground. His body was falling apart as if he were made of mold... ''Give Rose to me... now!''
''You... Your body certainly isn't normal, but that would explain a thing or too.'' she growled, lowering her hand from her eye. The whites of her eye were now black with black liquid that looked like ink rolled down her face.
Ethan started moving towards the woman with a limp, but Donna couldn't help but ask him a question. ''Wait, where is Lex! Is she alright?''
''I have no idea... I wasn't in the field... where she found me...'' he muttered, holding up his gun, arm swaying from side to side. He couldn't even keep his arm steady. He stumbled forwards, firing off a shot at Mother Miranda. She simply stepped off to the side, sending a large tree root through his stomach. He coughed before falling limply to the ground.
When Mother Miranda was about to severe his head from his neck and before Karl or any of the other Lords could react, something was thrown at the blonde woman. Something that looked like dust. Rosemary was scooped from her spot and Ethan was dragged the the three Lords.
Donna could barely believe who she was looking at. Her tank top was more red than white, having been stained with blood along with her blue flannel shirt still around her waist. One of her pant legs were torn off at the knee. Around her neck, was her blue scarf. Her hair was still the same snowy white colour but the pale red tips of her hair seemed to fade a bit. And there was something new about her hair. There was a black patch forming near the roots of her hair.
Slowly, she turned around, setting Ethan down. She was wearing the eyepatch the Dollmaker had made her. Her eyes were a bit red, like she had been crying earlier.
''I told you... I'd always return to you, Donna.'' Lex smiled. The woman couldn't help it, she ran at her. Lex flinched for a moment as soon as her arms went around her, holding her tight. Lex returned to hug but pulled away soon after. ''As much as I love your warmth, now isn't the time Donna. I still have work to do.''
Donna pulled away, looking at the woman in disbelief. Lex averted her gaze to Karl. ''Lord Heisenberg, do you mind taking hold of little Rosemary?''
Lex looked behind her and to Mother Miranda as Lord Heisenberg took hold of the infant. ''Hey, Miranda! Do you mind giving me a moment?'' the blonde looked confused at first before giving her a confused nod.
Lex turned back to Donna and untied her flannel shirt before handing it to her. ''Do you mind holding onto this, it may get in the way.''
''What are you going to do?'' the woman asked, taking hold of Lex's flannel. She didn't answer her however and simply leaned forwards, pressing her lips against Donna's. Lex couldn't help but smile a little when she felt Donna's hand against the back of her neck, pulling her closer as if this was the last time they'd ever kiss. But much to her own disappointment, Lex pulled away, pressing her forehead against Donna's.
''No matter what happens, I need all of you to stay out of this. Everything will be fine. Just stand back, alright? I love you, Donna. I love you so much.'' Lex whispered. Before Donna could respond, Lex stepped away from her and slowly approaching Mother Miranda.
