(A/N: apologizes for taking so long to update stuff. I'm currently in isolation and my school work is piling up. In addition, my mental health has taken a turn for the worst. Please be patient with me. Stay safe and have a good day/night)

As soon as Lex finished knocking, the click of a lock sounded from the other side. The door opened just enough to the person on the other side to see her, the faintest cries of a child coming from further in the house. The door finally swung wide open to reveal a tried looking old woman.

''Lex, it didn't expect to see you back so soon.''

''I know Lady Luiza, but I'm here for Shadow, may we please come in.'' Lex's voice was soft, trying to come off as non-threatening as possible. The old woman seemed to hesitate, looking at Donna before stepping off to the side to let them in.

After closing the door behind them, Lady Luiza lead them further into the house. In the living room as the drunk, Anton. Like Lex expected, he was downing another bottle of alcohol. What she didn't expect was that he'd jump to his feet and toss the bottle at her. The bottle missed her by barely an inch, a few shattered glass shards cutting her cheek. As soon as the wound was made, it began to heal as she looked towards him.

''What the fuck are you doing back here you fucking monster!?'' he shouted, spit flying from his mouth.

''Anton! Lex is welcome in this household and you will not provoke her into violence.'' Lady Luiza said in a stern voice.

''Oh yeah, and who's the creepy bitch with her? She welcome here too?''

''Don't you dare call her that vile word you alcoholic asshole!'' Lex growled, beginning to lose her temper.

''Oh yeah, and what are you going to do huh? Rip me apart like you did to that sorry bastard? Go ahead! We're already dead!'' he shouted, throwing his arms up. Before Lex had a chance to fire back, a soft hand was placed on her shoulder. Her head sapped to see who it was and her tense body relaxed when she saw Donna.

After a few moments, Lady Luiza led them to the kitchen. The crying began to get louder and louder as the got closer. Once they finally stepped inside, Lex's eyes found Elena, slumped over slightly and gently bouncing Shadow up and down in an attempt to sooth her cries. And before anyone had a chance to say anything, Lex stepped forwards and scooped the crying infant into her arms, ''Here, let me.''

Elena allowed the infant to be removed from her arms before looking up. When the young woman saw who it was, she stood up, the chair she was sitting on nearly getting knocked over. However, Lex didn't acknowledge the young woman and focused her attention on soothing Shadow. She hummed a soft tune to the infant, rocking her gently. The babies cries began to cease and stopped almost immediately when the infant locked eyes with Lex's only visible eye. The baby giggled, smiling a toothless smile in pure joy.

''She hadn't stopped crying after you left.'' Lady Luiza suddenly said, going over to Lex side and looking at the now smiling infant. ''She must have recognized you as a mother.''

''I doubt that. She's just a baby. She wouldn't have remembered me.'' Lex said, trying to dismiss the idea.

''I beg to differ.'' Lady Luiza said, going t the stove a putting the kettle on. ''Will you two be staying long? Care for some tea?''

Lex looked to Donna, who had remained silent ever since they entered the house. The Dollmaker shrugged, fidgeting with her cold fingers. Lex turned to Lady Luiza while Shadow played with a purple button on Lex's flannel. ''That's a very kind offer, but we have something planned tonight.'' Lex lied.

''Oh, I see. Well, at least stay and warm yourselves for a bit.'' Lady Luiza said, turning back to them. The old woman stepped to the table, pulling out two chairs for the two women. The snowy haired woman turned to Donna, gesturing with her head towards the chair. The Dollmaker visibly hesitated before taking a seat. Lex sat down in the chair next to Donna to give her some comfort.
