Before anyone knew it, a year had passed. Miranda had truly changed for the better. The Village had suffered during the chaos a year ago, but renovations were being made. A number of villagers had survived thanks to the efforts of Lady Luiza.

Miranda even told Lex that their deal that they made so long ago no longer mattered and that she didn't have to work for her anymore. Lex didn't mind the end of the deal, she still remained in House Beneviento and helped the other Lords whenever she could. She even got a job fixing ruined houses in the village. People were uneasy around her, but she just kept to herself. Donna even started thinking of opening a shop for dolls and Shadow was officially adopted into the Beneviento family thanks to Miranda.

However, Lex still remained a Miroslava.

The eldest daughter of the Dimitrescu family was in a stable condition, but remained in a coma. Miranda wasn't sure when she would awaken, but she was alive. Bela was visited everyday by her mothers and sisters. Her aunt and uncles visited her as much as they could. Lex even visited her.

Lex slowly slide to the ground, covering her eyes with her hand. She drew in a breath, pushing her hair back only for it to bounce back into place.

''Hey.'' she said, not expecting an answer. ''I know you probably weren't expecting me. I'm sorry I didn't visit sooner. I just...''

Lex paused, what could she possibly say?

''A lot of things happened. I've done things that disgust me. I'm sure they would scare you. I don't think I could ever be forgiven.'' Lex sighed. ''I've met someone. I think you'd really like her. She's kind. The kindest person I've ever met. I just don't understand how she can see the good in me let alone love me.''

Lex looked up and let out a weak chuckle. ''I have a kid too. Fuck... how did I manage that? Am I even good enough? Sometimes I wonder. After what happened...''

Lex paused again, tears rolling down her face. ''I'm so sorry my sweet baby... I-I should have been there for you that day... I'm so sorry Alexis.'' She used the back of her hand to wipe her tears away, reaching into her jacket and pulling out a bottle.

She opened it and smiled at the gravestone. ''It's cranberry juice, your favorite.'' she took a small sip. She didn't always enjoy the taste of cranberry, but it was Alexis's favorite. Lex wiped the juice from her lips, placing the bottle down. ''I want to try to heal. But that doesn't mean I'll forget you. And I'll always love you. Unconditionally. After all, you're my sister. Nothing will ever change that.''

Every so slowly, she grabbed the bottle and got to her feet. ''I'll try to visit. And, I'll try to heal. I think- I hope, that's what you'd want me to do. I love you, Alexis.''

With a few tears still rolling down her face, she turned from the grave. She walked silently passed the ruined house her and Alexis use to live in. She ran her fingers through her snowy hair, the tips of her hair an even more pale red. Well, it was more pink now. There was a small amount of dark roots in her hair now.

Lex sighed, looking up forwards as she played with the tips of her hair. This entire year, she hadn't heard Avals or even felt their presence. Orim rarely talked to Lex either.

''Lex!'' she snapped from her thoughts, looking around. She must have been so lost in her thoughts she didn't even realize she was near the middle of the village. In front of her was none other than Donna Beneviento. In her arms were a cooing Shadow, reaching for Angie who was resting on the Dollmaker's shoulder.

The snowy haired woman smiled at the two of them. ''Are you alright? You didn't come home around the time you usually did and I got a bit worried.''

Lex went to the three of them, hugging them. Donna was a bit taken aback at first but nuzzled her face into Lex's neck. The snowy haired woman pulled away, gently taking Shadow from the Dollmaker, smiling down at the infant. ''How are my favorite girls doing?''

''Lex, what is that?'' Donna asked, a hint of concern evident in her voice. Lex looked at the woman and then at the bottle she was still holding.

''I thought you said you don't drink!'' Angie said, playing with Donna's veil.

Lex huffed, the corner of her lip curling up a bit more. ''It's cranberry juice. Want some?'' she offered. Donna shook her head, lifting her veil and planting a kiss on Lex's lips. Lex couldn't help but smile a bit brighter into the kiss.

Donna pulled away, gently taking the bottle from Lex in order to hold her hand better. ''Come on, let's go home, cara mia.''

Lex followed Donna a few steps before stopping, remembering what she told Alexis just a few minutes ago. The Dollmaker turned to her girlfriend, a bit confused.

''Can I... Can I ask you something, Donna?'' The Dollmaker nodded. ''Do you love me?''

Donna blinked a few times before chuckling. ''What kind of question is that? Of course I do.''

''Will you always love me?...''

''Lex,'' Donna placed her hand against the woman's face, caressing her cheek softly. ''where is this coming from?''

''I just...'' Lex looked off to the side, nuzzling into Donna's hand. She didn't say anything, unsure why she even asked in the first place. Perhaps since she decided to visit Alexis made a few doubts bubble to the surface. Or maybe it was something else. Something that might happen in the future. Whether it be near or far.

''Lex, I will never stop loving you.'' Donna gave her a warm smile ''No matter what happens, I will always love you. Unconditionally.''
