"Stop avoiding me." I said when we were finally out of the classroom. "What's your problem?" I asked, hoping she would spill something that gave me an idea of what this argument would even be about.
"I don't have a problem, I'm perfectly fine." She said, walking faster.
"You don't look fine!"
"Wow, thanks for the compliment." She shouted sarcastically as she got further and further away from me.
I didn't know what else to say, but I didn't know when we'd speak again if I didn't get my point across. So I went with my first guess and apologized for cheating.
"Look, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you... but you can hold this against me, I lost my memory and he told me that we'd been a thing!"
"Shut up!" She kept walking.
"I love you!" I yelled and she stopped, turning with a tear creeping down her cheek.
"And I love you too." Her voice cracked. "But we both know you don't fucking mean it the way I meant it."
"Meant it? Alex..." At this point my voice was cracking too. My vision was blurred by tears, watching her blurry figure walk away.
James ran out of the classroom. "What's going on?? I heard yelling." He rushed towards me and wiped my tears.
"You guys got into another argument. Tch... I can't believe she still likes you."
"What?" I looked up at him. Another argument? About what?
"When she freaked out about me and you almost kissing." He rolled his eyes.
"Why would she get made about that?" I already thought I knew the answer, but I asked anyway for clarification.
"She was like your obsessed best friend or something." He scoffed and rubbed my back. I got out of his embrace, thoughts and flash backs surrounding my mind out of order.
"Fuck." I groan.
"What?"
"My memories..." I whispered. I remembered crying that night. Walking into a car with James in destress. But everything went black after a while when I yelled at him to turn around. It was still new to me, I didn't know what to think of it.
I'm so lost still, I can't process anything right now. Everything was a blur. I'm getting dizzy. The school floor was rotating beneath my feet and all I could hear was heavy footsteps running away from me.
I felt my body let go, finally giving up. So I laid there on the cold dirty hallway floor, barely keeping my eyes open. My head was pounding and my body wouldn't allow me to move.
I saw my teacher with a phone in her hand and worry in her eyes before I had closed my own.

When I woke up, I was in my room. My mom was beside my bed with a glass of water. "Oh, honey!" She jumped up from kneeling and gave me a soft and comforting hug.
"You passed out at school today.. your teacher brought you home." She told me as if she knew I was wondering how I got here. "I'm gonna go back downstairs but if you need me, there's a bell on your night stand, and please get up slowly if you feel like you want to." She informed me, patting my head.
"Okay... thanks mom."
"Of course sweetie. Feel better, we're taking you to the doctors tomorrow for an update on your memories."
