It's been around a month since I last talked to Harlow, where we left off at the pool. I've not been seeing her around much, and if I had seen her around, I didn't pay attention to her nor did I look her way. I was thinking about her lesser and lesser, forgetting all the fucked up things about her.

It's also been around a month since Vera got me and the girls invited to the best thing I've ever been invited to in my whole life. The Christmas Ball. Or since it's in France, la bal de noël. The girls told me that a lot of the American and the French , of course, will be joining us to the ball. There'll be a lot of people to meet and to talk to and since it's a ball in France, I'll be familiar with the language they speak and how to act to be polite. My mum taught me well on that kind of topic.

Once Vera told us the news that weekend, we agreed to pick a day closer to Christmas to all go shopping. Shopping for our outfits, accessories and all sorts for the ball, but also for a couple of Christmas gifts for each other to exchange. We did this 'secret Santa' thing yesterday, and I picked out Sam. We told each other we can't say a thing about who we've picked out, meaning I can't really get help in choosing what to get for Sam. But I think it'll be easy to find something for her. At least I hope.

We got up early today. Well, Vera woke us all up early today so we could go out to the huge shopping centre down in the city.

"What do you think? The black pencil skirt and sweater, or the beige denims skirt and the long sleeved white cropped top?" Vera says, standing in front of the mirror swapping between putting each outfit in front of her body to see what fits better.

"I say beige skirt and the white top." I tell her, shrugging and turning to Sam and Elena.

"Me too, it looks better, especially with that grey jacket. Sam?" Elena asks, looking at Sam, who's curling her hair.

"If Elena and Elodie say it look good, so do I. I cant turn around or I'll burn myself with this curling iron, again." Sam groans.

Elena tosses the other outfit on top of her bed, then walks up to me. "What about you?" I look beside me to the black jeans and the larger white sweater.

"I think I'll wear this, with the black boots?" I ask for her opinion, and she nods with a hand under her chin, then leaves my bed to head to her draws. She opens up the bottom draw, taking something out and wrapping it around her wrist to get the clothing out of the draw. She turns to me and tosses over a grey thinner looking scarf.

I catch it and lay it over the neck of my sweater.

"Now, with a little bit of touch, it looks better." She smiles at me, walking off into Elena's direction. I get changed into my outfit, putting a long sleeved shirt underneath my sweater to keep warm, as I didn't have a jacket or coat to match the outfit. That's on my list of what to buy today. Along with a gift for Sam, a dress and heels for the ball, along with some earrings or a necklace to match. Oh, and some new clothes and stuff for me to survive in here.
