Harlow kept her word last night, because as I was falling asleep minutes after crawling back into bed once I'd returned from her office, I heard my door open, clothes drop, and felt Harlow's warmth as she curled up next to me in bed.
But that warmth didn't last a great deal of time - by the time I woke up again, Harlow was gone. I can't blame her of course, since the threat of Luciano yesterday, she surely has a lot to figure out and plan; plus she had left me a text to wake up to at the very least.
Sorry I had to leave early, darling, there'll be a lot going on for me in the next few weeks, so please don't take my leaving as a bad sign. I'll come and see you later today, Elodie.
Still, though it's the bare minimum, it means a lot that she thought to give me some reassurance.
I get out of bed after my alarm wakes me up, remembering I'm going back to work today. Harlow told me by all means, I was free to take as many days off as I pleased, but I insisted. All three of my best friends are working, meaning if I'm also working, I get to hang out with them, whilst also making money. Harlow responded that I don't need to work for money and she could wipe out all of my online shopping baskets instantly, but I refused.
I haven't talked to the girls yet because I felt so tired after France yesterday that I went back to my room and slept my tiredness off. Of course, they know what I told them in pieces over text, but these girls are dying for a full breakdown of my weekend with Harlow at the first given chance.
I walk over to my bathroom and switch on the light, taking a look in the mirror. I pick up my brush and brush out my hair, then put it up into a slightly messy ponytail to get it out of my way. I leave the bathroom, retrieve my maid's clothes, and change out of my silk night dress and into the clothes, taking a look in my floor-length mirror once I'm done to make sure I look good.
I fold and put away my silk dress before heading back into the bathroom to start my skincare and makeup. I apply my usual creams and serums, as well as a little bit of primer since I don't want to put too much makeup on today - especially since I've noticed my skin starts to look just a little clearer the less of it I wear lately.
I finish applying my makeup and setting it in place in about fifteen minutes and add a spritze of perfume before I leave my bathroom for the morning.
I walk over to my bedside table, unplugging my phone and checking my notifications again.
A few messages from the girls, which I'll reply to in person when I get down to the kitchen and see them for the first time in a few days.
No messages from Harlow, even though I replied to her first one this morning, but that was expected. I'll probably see her around today anyways, she can't reside in her office for the whole 24 hours - at least I hope not.
I double-check how I look in the mirror one more time before I leave my bedroom and start heading downstairs.
By the time I take the lift and make it down to the ground floor, I can already see Sam, Elena, and Vera waiting near the kitchen doors for me.
