A D V I K A

I turned back to Arshi while she was waiting impatiently for me to end the call.

"Who was it? What took so long dude? It's 12.30 already and we need to get you ready man! We start sharp at 4 isn't that what you wanted soon to be Mrs. Saraf!", Arhsi giggled at the last part of her sentence while I help her by her shoulder and made her sit on the edge of my bed while I kneeled in front of her.

She looked at me confused and asked, "Oh no no no, wait girl, are you gonna confess your love for me then please let me tell you I am very much straight and I want a prince charming not princess charming", Arshi said exactly overacting like the irritating characters of Indian TV serials. I hit her knee playfully and laughed at her words.

"Okay listen, tell me did you talk to Vishal anytime recently?", I asked her seriously.

"What? Why? Where did Vishal come into the picture?", Arshi asked confused certainly expecting me to ask her something about Rohit and not Vishal.

"I don't have time for that Arshi just answer my questions as quickly as you can", I said dead serious.

"No", she replied in a single word.

"Okay then do it sometime soon, and I mean it, don't ask what why just do it, he trusts you and considers you as a friend and I have this feeling that he might talk to you about it and I plead you go listen to him patiently and I know you can handle it maturely", I said and Arshi was still looking at me registering my words. She understood it was something serious and nodded.

"Okay...I will don't worry, but before that I need to tell you that last time when we met when I gave him the invitation for Bhavin's wedding, he was quite interested in knowing about you and your past and-", I didn't let her complete her sentence as we were running low on time and someone would surely barge into my room soon.

"I know Arshi, that's why I need you to handle him for a few days okay after my engagement when I leave for London", I tell her hurriedly

"What? You are going back?", She asked me surprised.

Mansi entered the room without knocking and before I could say anything she shouted at Arshi for sitting and gossiping when her job was to start getting me ready.

Mansi was soon followed by the makeup artist and her assistant.
I couldn't talk to Arshi anymore about it and she thankfully understood the hint and stayed shut and we continued with the makeup and focused in getting me ready for the rituals.

After almost getting done with my makeup Mother India entered with food for me and the makeup artist too went to have her lunch. Arshi me and Mansi had it in my room itself. Mansi mentioned how restless Rohit is to see me and in that moment I realised not even a single thought of him crossed my mind since I woke up!

Damn it he was the man I am getting engaged to and here I am worrying about the one who certainly is sulking in his own world! Guilt hit my poor heart like a tsunami and to add ghee to the fire Whiskey came and started playing between my legs!

Whiskey always reminded me of Rohit and his sweet gestures.
Rohit has always been such a perfect fiance while on the other hand it was me! He deserved better than me!

The makeup women did their wonders and I looked extremely beautiful after one hour of extreme boredom by sitting in front of the mirror and following the artist's instructions.

It was time I draped the saree. I totally loved wearing sarees and now in this yellow saree I felt so pretty. I am excited to see Rohit's reaction to me as I step in front of him today because he totally loved this saree for some reason. Before I could go deeper into my thoughts Arshi and Mansi entered the room and eyed me as if I was some candy placed in front of a 5 year old kid.

"We need to warn Rohit about this patakha (cracker) beforehand", Arshi said to Mansi.

"Damn I am ready to bet 5k on the fact that jiju's jaw would be on the floor when he would see her", Mansi said back to Arshi.

"What a graceful way to compliment your sister!", I said sarcastically and both of them hugged me tight, when I mean tight, I mean very tight!

"Uh...umm girls I think I would like to get engaged, alive!", I said and both of them released me from the chocking hug and laughed. Mansi faked tears and sobbed.

"Dude save it for the wedding now let's get to the terrace before mother India comes here searching for me", I tell them and they escort me to the terrace where Rohit was already seated with his parents. All of them were waiting for me and as soon as I stepped in all eyes snapped in my direction and I felt a little awkward with such attention.
Though I had seen Rohit's outfit earlier, I took a moment to relish how handsome he looked in the black outfit.

I could feel many eyes lingering on me and I maybe heard my parents say how beautiful I looked. Rohit took his sweet time to relish my beauty.

As I went closer his smile grew wider and in that moment something snapped inside me

As I went closer his smile grew wider and in that moment something snapped inside me.

I could see Rohit smiling wide at me and then he looked beside him and there he was.
Vishal stood there in a red kurta and smiled mischievously at Rohit and hugged him.
Before words could escape my throat I see the blue box of ring in Vishal's hand and I freeze in my place!
Is Vishal..?......Omg I wanted to scream so loudly!!!
