37. Is silence a yes or no?

After I reach home my mother calls me down in the living room. I had a great time this afternoon and I certainly don't want her to ruin my rest of the day. I pray silently that this goes good as I move down to the hall.

"We are going for dinner at the Saraf's. Be ready by 7 it's already 5 now so I guess you have enough time to get ready, appropriately. Mansi will help you if you need anything while getting ready", my mother informs me.

Mansi nods at my mother's order.

"What is it today? Rohit didn't tell me anything?!", I ask her sounding as casual as I could.

"His parents invited us.", She bluntly states without any emotion.

"Does Rohit know this or is it just that you parents have decided?", I could make out easily that there is a hidden motive behind this dinner I just need to know what is it.

"To tell Rohit about this is his parents job not mine, I told you, now if you're done with your questions you may want to take a shower before getting ready.", My mother remarks at me.

She has always been the perfect woman whole stepping out of the house even if it is for groceries she would want to look perfect!
I roll my eyes at her as I go back to my room. The first thing I do is call Rohit.

"Hey, I was about to call you!", He says as soon as he picks up.

"What's going on Rohit?", I ask him sounding pissed.

"I'm sorry, I have no idea. I just got to know about the dinner really!", He tells me and I instantly regret going harsh on him.

Obviously he isn't at fault. He too didn't know anything if did I would be the first one he would have called that much I surely know him.

"Hey Advika you there?", He asks as I go silent for a few moments.

"Yeah yeah, I just- I am sorry I shouldn't have lashed out at you, it's just my mother, she pisses me off by her cold tone.", I tell him and I relax.

"Listen to me will you?", He asks me sweetly

"Hmm", how can I be rudebto this person who has always been nothing but sweet and patient with me!

"Let them do what they want for today, we will talk about this later okay? I have already told you we will go by your decision and I will stand by it no matter what.", He assures me which actually calms me down.

"Okay", I tell him and he lets out a sharp breath. I can literally see his relieved face!

"I thought you would put up a fight now! I had prepared according to that actually", he has the guts to say this to me, luckily he didn't have to see that form of me right now.

"Oh so should I get mad now because it would waste your efforts of the preparation for the fight?", I ask him teasing.

"Oh no! This way it's better", he laughs.

"Okay then see you at dinner", I say and we get off the call.

In all honesty we both knew where all this was heading. Rohit was slightly happy and I knew he would never reject me and Me on the other hand....I have not said yes, yet, but I didn't even say a clear no.

I didn't know what to think, I knew I could never love Rohit the way he deserves to be but I can't expect anything from Vishal so I mentally decide to go with whatever comes my way and basically give my attention to the one who actually loves me!

When we get at Rohit's place his parents great us with a warm welcome and as they get engrossed in their discussion they suggest us to go to the terrace for some fresh air. I drag Mansi along with me to the terrace as we follow Rohit.
