66. Late night catch up over maggie

"What?", I snap back at him

"Shhh, come sit here", he pulls me to the couch that I had occupied earlier and made me sit there.

I couldn't look at him directly, something flipped inside me when he said that. I had evolved a lot the past years and I couldn't take any hurt to my self-respect. I had learnt to put it before anything else and I had stopped being pathetic and helpless when it came to protect my self-respect.

"I am sorry I didn't mean it that way, I know how pathetic that sounded!", Vishal says kneeling in front of me and envelops my hands in his protectively.

"Advika...which one is better?", Adnan joins us and asks me then takes in the scene in front of him.

"What's wrong?" , He asks us.

"Nothing...", I say and get up to closely take a look of the two shirts Adnan wanted to show me.
I as stand close to him checking the shirts, Vishal sits up on the couch with a sullen face.

"Are you sure everything okay?", Adnan asks me after glancing at Vishal.

"Hmm, this one will suit you better!", I tell him.

"Okay, hey Vishal what do you think?", He asks.

"She said it's good, it's good", he replies looking at me.

Great! I destroyed his mood!

"Where's Mansi and Rushi?", I ask changing the topic.

"They have gone for billing, even I am heading there, are you done yet?", Adnan asks us and Vishal gets up with the bag of clothes.

"Yeah we're done let's go", he starts walking towards the billing counter and we follow.

"Vishal why are you paying?", I ask him when he takes his card out to pay for my clothes.

"Because I want to?", He says handing over the card to the worker.

"You don't have to I would have..."

"Let me spoil you a little", he says but his words are devoid of a certain emotion.....happiness!

I didn't say anything futher, I didn't know what to!

We leave the shop and head to the food court, all of us savour our food and head back home. Everyone rummages through their shoppings and Mansi appreciates Vishal's choice in my clothes. Well, what to say he has a better eye for clothing, I am a little lazy and unlucky in that department!

We order our preferred pizzas for dinner except for Vishal as he goes for some noodles.

"Guys I am tired, I am gonna sleep", Mansi yawns .

"Oh hey yes, how was Adnan on the couch in the morning?", I ask Mansi

"She couldn't sleep here so he offered to and you know I wouldn't be able to fit on it", Rushi explains.

"Ohh...fine come on even I am gonna sleep.", I say and look at Vishal.

"Mansi if you want you can sleep with her I'll take the couch.", Vishal offers her.

"No why?", I blurt out. I know he is in a foul mood but he is supposed to be the one making me understand not otherwise!

Well, Advika this isn't anything new to you !!!

"Yeah we are fine you go enjoy", Mansi says adding a wink looking at me!

"Vishal..."

"Yeah coming..."
