Everyone was hard at work, for some reason, it seemed as though the work that was needed doubled up. Or at least, that's how it was for the cleaning and laundry staff members, the kitchen for some reason seemed completely unaffected.
"It's because Ella has officially left," Kazari explained when Thoma asked what was happening, both had tired bags under their eyes because of the sudden increase in workload.
"Didn't she retire a couple of days ago?" Thoma asked, stifling a yawn.
"Yeah, but since her job was so important, she still came by every now and then to help but now, she isn't coming back," Kazari rubbed her eyes, "I envy the kitchen staff during moments like these. Ella wasn't associated with them at all so they won't notice any change."
"There's only a few housekeepers in the kitchen, everyone else is a staff worker," Thoma sighed, "At least the kitchen will be fine."
"Come on Newcomer, we need to wake up Young Lady." Kazari said and slapped her cheeks, forcing her eyes awake.
"I only slept for two hours," Thoma groaned, "And that was when I fell asleep on the laundry!"
"I haven't slept for twenty four hours, we're in something that the housekeepers would call, 'Losing a Liability'." Kazari rubbed her temples.
Kazari and Thoma opened the door to Ayaka's room and on instinct, Thoma fell onto the tatami mats and fell asleep where he usually was. Last night, since he didn't want Ayaka to worry, he pretended to go to sleep after chatting with her and then get out of bed, change his clothes, and then headed out.
"Newcomer, wake up!" Kazari said and snapped Thoma out of his beautiful one second dream.
"If this is what happens when we lose the head of the housekeepers, I hate to see what would happen if an attendant just left." Thoma muttered and forced himself up. Kazari flinched slightly before turning around and telling Thoma to wake Ayaka up.
"Young Lady, it's morning now!" Thoma said and gently shook Ayaka up, he really, really wanted to go to bed but shook his head quickly.
"Ah... good morning you two," Ayaka woke up, "Hm? Both of you look quite tired, is everything alright?"
"Of course Young Lady," said Kazari, "I just didn't sleep well."
"I woke up a bit earlier than usual and couldn't fall asleep." Thoma replied, he had been told to find a good lie in case Ayaka asked why they looked exhausted. Otherwise, Ayaka would fret and insist that they go to sleep and rest.
"Oh, that's a shame to hear," Ayaka frowned slightly, "Hopefully, you'll both sleep well tonight."
Thoma gave a fake laugh and gave Ayaka a thumbs up while Kazari nodded and then shot back up as if she had just fallen asleep... Actually, she probably just did.
"Newcomer, read aloud Young Lady's schedule while I get her changed." Kazari ordered and while she grabbed Ayaka's clothes, she slapped her cheeks once again to force herself to stay awake.
"You two definitely seemed exhausted, shouldn't you both rest for a bit?" Ayaka asked.
"Hahaha," Thoma gave another fake laugh before saying with full seriousness, "We're fine."
"We've got some work to do." Kazari added to smooth things over.
You see, right now, every single housekeeper was in a mad hurry to take over what Kazari, Thoma, Sharar, and Abdiel were doing (since they were all waking up their masters). So! All four of them had to hurry up and get back to work quickly while trying to hide all of the commotion from Ayato and Ayaka.
