Ayaka and Thoma both bowed their heads as they watched Ayato depart Narukami Island with Abdiel and Sharar. They were all riding a carriage that looked exactly like the ones Ayaka and Thoma had ridden from Liyue to Mondstadt.
According to what Ayato had said, it would be better to ride a carriage that didn't look very fancy to avoid any possible robberies of the sort.
"Remember to confirm that the paperwork managed to get to the head of the Sangonomiya Clan about coming here for the meeting regarding-" Ayato reminded his younger sister.
"Don't worry Brother," Ayaka interrupted, "Please, just focus on the business trip and don't worry about the Yashiro Commission."
Ayato took a deep breath and then his worried face calmed down.
"I won't worry about the Yashiro Commission," said the head of the Kamisato Clan, "After all, you're in charge of it."
Ayato beamed with pride and Ayaka knew right there and then that she wouldn't let her brother down. Thoma could see her fists clench in determination and couldn't help but laugh slightly, it had been a while since he had last seen her so focused on wanting to make someone proud.
"Young Lord, we're departing now." Sharar notified.
"Thoma, are you sure you can cover my shifts?" Abdiel asked.
"Of course," Thoma assured, "Have fun!"
"Honestly you two," Sharar shook her head towards both Thoma and Abdiel, "It's only going to be for three days. Nothing more, nothing less."
"Make sure you three all stay careful though." Ayaka reminded and worry was written all over her face, "Don't crash or anything like that, okay?"
"Do not worry Lady Ayaka," Sharar assured, "We'll be safe and will return safe and sound."
Thoma grinned and gave the three of them a thumbs up. Truth be told, even he was worried about that crew. It would be an entire day trip out to where they would be going and within that day, anything could happen.
"Young Lord, Abdiel, we have to go." Sharar snipped.
"Very well," Ayato nodded, "Then let us be off."
"Bye!" Abdiel waved his hand cheerfully and climbed into the back of the carriage after Ayato.
As Ayato, Abdiel, and Sharar left, neither Ayaka or Thoma moved until their carriage was out of sight.
"They'll be fine." Thoma reassured.
"I know," Ayaka nodded, "But I can't help but worry nevertheless."
"So! Young Lady, you're officially now the Acting Head, right?" Thoma asked.
"Oh, I suppose I am now." said Ayaka.
Thoma's face fell and he then added, "I suppose this means you'll be busy for the next few days."
"Don't worry Thoma, it will only be for three days." Ayaka put her hand on his cheek and kissed him gently. After that, she then proceeded to walk back towards the Kamisato estate while Thoma was giggling to himself.
"Ah! Young Lady! Wait up!" Thoma exclaimed after realizing that he was being left behind.
...
As soon as Ayaka asked for all of Ayato's documents to be delivered to her room, the level of respect she had for her brother sky-rocketed. There must've been thousands of files that were due that day and she didn't know how she would finish it.
