Over the next few weeks, Gemma and Clay had begun to talk to me more. Clay seemed a bit suspicious to me, but I ignored that. David and Jacob seemed to leave me alone. I kept receiving the phone calls with heavy breathing, but I thought nothing of it since these had happened before. I just chalked it up to prank phone calls.

Since I had begun bartending, Donna had spent much more time around the club house with the kids. It gave me so much joy. Although she still wasn't one hundred percent comfortable with the way Opie earned, she had been giving him less grief over it. It seemed to make the club and Opie happy. And to Donna, that's all that mattered. Jax and Opie were on a repo while Donna and I sat at the picnic tables. The kids were at school and Donna and I were just chatting away.

"Hadley, you seem happy lately. It makes me so happy." Donna gave me a genuine smile.

"I am happy. I feel content and loved. That's all I ever wanted." I said with a smile.

"Don't think I didn't notice the phone calls lately though. What are those about?" Donna questioned me.

"Nothing, wrong numbers, just been happening a lot more frequently." I shrugged it off.

"Yeah, land line and cell phone though Hadley? Please don't lie to me." I gave her a look.

"I'm not lying to you Donna." She rolled her eyes at me. "Oh please, Jax brought it up to Opie. He's worried."

"They are just prank phone calls Donna, it's nothing!" I tried to get her to believe me, but she was not having any of it. She gave me the harshest look she could muster and I sighed in defeat. "They are all different numbers and when I answer the phone, it's just heavy breathing." The tow truck drove onto the lot with a 2013 Hyundai attached to the back. Opie got out of the drivers seat and Jax out of the passengers seat.

"You need to tell Jax, Hadley." Donna tried to tell me.

"No, I don't. They are prank phone calls." I defended my decision.

"You don't know that!" She raised her voice at me, causing my jaw to drop. Her voice alerted the guys who sauntered over to us.

"What's going on?" Opie questioned seriously.

"Hadley is acting stupid." Donna said.

"Excuse you. It's my fucking life and I've done just fine on my own for 10 fucking years. I don't need you telling me how to live my life." I snapped.

"You're going to get yourself killed and I'm not okay with that! So you tell them, or I will." She snapped back at me.

"Go ahead, tell them about prank fucking phone calls but the trust is fucking gone." I snarled as I began to walk away, leaving Donna, Opie, and Jax in complete shock.

"I just want you to be safe. You can hate me forever if you want. However, you're pushing me away when all you wanted was someone to care!" Donna said softly. I stopped, turning around to face them again. I knew she was right but I didn't want to admit it.

"You're right. I'm sorry." I said, looking down at my shoes.

"Okay, what the fuck is going on?" Jax questioned.

"I've been getting random phone calls from different numbers and all of them have heavy breathing on the other side. I've gotten phone calls like this before, but nothing ever came of them so I just assumed they were prank calls." I explained. Opie and Jax looked at each other before looking back at me. I avoided eye contact and began picking at my nails.

"You know we only want you safe, right babe?" Jax questioned.

"Of course, it's just hard to believe sometimes. Just with my past. It has nothing to do with you guys." I said softly. Jax stepped towards me and stood in front of me.
