Chapter 38

I sat at the picnic table contemplating how to kill Weston. I wanted to do it by myself but I knew I would get caught. I was also pregnant, so I needed the club to do the job. Sitting there by myself, made me realize one thing. I needed someone else. I put my head in my hands and that's when I heard the footsteps. I looked up and there was Jax, Opie, and Happy. 

"Hadley, I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have blamed you for it happening. I just needed someone to blame because it happened to my little sister and I wasn't there to help you." Ope sighed. I could tell he felt remorse. 

"Ope, you, Jax, Happy, Abel, and Chibs are everything to me. I can't believe I'm fucking saying this but I fucking need you. I can't do this without any of you." I spilled my guts to them. And then I made my confession. "I was planning on murdering Weston. There's no scenario where I don't get hurt or killed. Now, I have someone else depending on me for survival. I need my damn body guards." I chuckled.

"Having someone need you is a good thing babe." Jax reminded me. I nodded but sighed. 

"I never thought I'd need anyone, you know? I always thought that was a weakness." They all nodded in agreement. 

"So did we, but that part of your life is over now." Happy stated. 

"Yeah it is. There's a new king coming soon." I smirked and rested my hand on my slowly growing belly.

The next morning, Jax was at the table drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette. "Change is coming, right?" I questioned him and he nodded. 

"Clay won't be president forever. Bobby knows the decisions Clay is making will destroy the very foundation of the club and I have Chibs, Happy, Opie, Kozik, and now Bobby on my side." Jax confirmed everything. 

"I stand with you, no matter what it brings. We'll make it out together." I truly meant every word. He stood up and kissed me with so much passion, I could have fainted. When we broke apart, I had to get ready for the day. "Babe?" He called. 

"Yeah?" I called back as I was slipping on a bra.

"I have to go to the porn studio. I'm leaving, a'ight?" He stepped into the bedroom and I smiled at him. 

"You should go, but you should kiss me first." It took no effort as he stepped closer and kissed me softly. 

"I'm going to see Chibs today." He nodded. "We'll meet at Gemma's dinner tonight?" 

"Yeah babe. I'll see you there." He smacked my ass and then he walked out the bedroom door and out of the house. I continued getting ready. Abel was at the park with Neeta so I was able to do so without distraction. As soon as I was ready, I left the house on my motorcycle and went to the hospital. When I got there, I stepped into the room to see Gemma with a long black haired woman. 

"Hey Gem. Who are you?" I questioned. 

"His wife, Fiona." I just nodded and offered my hand to shake. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Hadley. Jax's old lady." 

"And how are you family to my husband?" She questioned, like she was trying to intimidate me, but I refused to let her.

"He has been there for me in some of the worst times of my life. I owe him a lot. He's stepped in as the father I never had." She looked semi shocked at my bluntness.

"Well at least he can be a father to someone." She smiled sadly. I don't know the whole story, but I know he isn't able to see his daughter. Not because of his wife though. 

"How is he?" I questioned. 

"Still sleeping but it looks like he's getting better." I smiled at the news.
