Chapter 22- Let's Eat

Luke’s Pov

As she walks down the hallway showing us to the Presentation Room, I hear Si say something to North in Greek and North nod and reply. Emily is talking to Doc in Japanese. I know he is happy to have someone to talk to instead of Owen and sometimes Victor. 

I can smell chicken down the hall and as I walk into the presentation room, I smile. This is my kind of room. It has two rich brown sofas and four matching recliners. In the center is two square glass tables with wooden legs. Between the recliners are small round glass end tables. The floor and the walls are made of mahogany timber, and she has a cream area rug with taupe swiggles through out the carpet. The wall facing the hallway and the door are all glass and the opposite wall is mahogany with a projector screen. 

“Oy, this one is different from the other one. I love how you laid it out. Who did your design?” says Gabe.

“I did. I wanted a place where people would feel comfortable to express their ideas, and place big enough to hold 10 people comfortably. Plus its good to have a place to unwind from negotiations.” says Emily

“All I know is it smells great and I am ready to eat. I can't concentrate until I get some food in my stomach.”

“Well, I don't want the birthday boy to faint on me before I show him what I have planned so let's eat first.” She turns and walks down the all to the next office.

“What's on the menu?”

“Sweet tea deep fried chicken, sauteed green beans, seven layer salad, my crack dip with veggies and chips, loaded mashed potatoes, cornbread, home made honey butter, soda, tea, water, and dessert is in the fridge.”

As we walk into the conference room, I look around and I and see food everywhere. I don't know where to start. As I move to sit down at the table, my stomach growls loudly and Gabe says laughing:

“Man, when was the last time you fed that animal?”

“Not since this eight this morning and its saying Feed Me Seymo.”

Emily starts laughing and says ''I like that move. That scene was so funny.” She turns to Nat who is walking up next to me and says “Did you like Little Shop of Horrors too?”

“I do" says Nat as he sits down. “When they are singing the Git It song, that is my favorite part."

“I agree, although I did not like Audrey. I'm not sure if it was the voice or what, but she just annoyed me.”

When she looks back at me, I smile and wink at her. She blushes and its so cute. I say “Feed me Emily.” like the plant and she starts laughing. I like the sound of her laugh because it's so unique. I will have to make her laugh some more. Once she gets her laughing under control, she looks at me and I give her a sad puppy dog look and say:

“Since it's my party you're planning does that mean I can fix my plate first?”

She started laughing again and I notice all the guys are looking at me and her, she says “Oh, sure you can Sugar. Go on and fix your plate first. Then the rest of you guys can fix your plate.”

“Miss Sway, ladies first. Then Mr. Taylor and rest of us will fix our plates.”

I watch her fix her plate of chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. It's nice to see a women eat a full meal, and not try to eat cute as I call it since she is with a bunch of guys. I hate it when they do that at the diner. 

I hurry up and fix my plate since I can feel Si and North breathing down my neck. Plus I want to sit across from Emily so I can make her blush. Vic's right. I could spend the day with her and chill out. She is like a natural stress release.
