Chapter 26-Mi Casa Es Tu Casa

I turn and took Heart's leash. We head to the door and up the back stairs to my place. I hear the door close and lock and I am so nervous my heart is pounding in my chest. As I step into my apartment, Heart starts barking and he tugs the leash so he can go sniff around the apartment. I smile and unhook his leash, because he always does that when he leaves. It makes me smile knowing he is protecting me and I am the one who should be protecting him. Turning, I see them all behind me.

I head towards the living room with the guys behind me. I am so thankful Mom and Dad were able to buy all the upstairs apartments in this strip. At first I thought it was too much. It was just me, but with nine guys and me, we need the space and the extra bathrooms.

"You have a Puffer fish! That's awesome and different.They are the happiest fish." Nathan said, looking at my fish tank.

"They are my favorite fish. Let me show you guys around the apartment. If there is anything that you need to charge, you can plug it in here or in one of the two bedrooms. I only have two bedrooms so you guys can decide who sleeps where. Just to clear things up, I am the only one sleeping in my room with Heart."

"Well there goes my question" Sean chuckled.

"Pay Doc no mind, he is just a hopeless flirt" says Kota as he walks up to me adjusting his bag.

"When you're ready, I will show you around my place."

"We're ready Miss Sway. Please lead the way." Mr. Blackbourne replied.

"Well, this is the living room that opens to the kitchen behind me. I wanted an open floor plan in here so I could see it all at one time."

I walk out of the living room, past the kitchen and down the hall. "On the right is the laundry room." I pull back the frosted glass door with a timber frame that says Laundry so they could see it. "It has a front loading washer and dryer. In between them are 2 pull out drawers. Once is empty and flat so i can place the laundry basket in there. The second one has the laundry detergent, stain remover and fabric softener."

The counter top is made from recycled paper in a bright yellow and sits on top of the dark gray washer and dryer. The counter top is used for folding, I tell them seeing several of them looking closely at the counter.

Closing the laundry door I say "On the left is the bathroom. It's a full bathroom with a shower and tub." I open the bathroom so they can see it's painted white with sea foam tiles in the shower. Walking further up the hall, I open the right door and say: "Here is the first guest room." It has a queen bed with white bedding with sky blue swiggles throughout the comforter, two dressers and night stands and table with 2 chairs. The walls are a sky blue and by the chairs there is a drawing of to birds perched on a branch on a tree. The branches have green leaves and the birds look like they are talking to each other. The chairs are yellow and the table is made out of a tree trunk. It looks like you are sitting under a tree with birds chirping on a clear blue sky There is a TV on top of the dresser. There are 2 remotes sitting on the night stand under the sconces on the wall.

"Dr. Green and I will take this room Miss Sway."

"Very well Mr. Blackbourne. Let me show you guys the other bedroom across the hall."

I turn and open the second guest bedroom door. The walls in this room are painted light gray with four daybeds hanging from the wall. Each bed has 4 feet of space between them and each bed has a battery powered LED light that can be turned on with a button. The bedding is white with yellow pillows as the accent color. Above each bed has one of my four guides to life framed by the bed. Smile, Laugh, Music, Food.

"Why do you have four beds hanging from the wall with ropes and metal hooks?" North asked.

"Are they bolted into the wall studs?" Silas questioned looking hard at the beds.

"I get the Food bed!" Luke shouted.

"I get Music bed!" Victor called.

"I call Smile bed." Kota grinned.

"I get the Laugh bed." says Gabe, as he and Victor climb the ladders to the top beds and place their bags on them.

As Kota walks to his bed under Victor, he said "North, Si and Nathan, you will have to use your sleeping bags on the floor in here." The command in his voice is soft, but it's there none the less. I know for sure when I see them nod their heads and drop their bags.

"North, I have the hanging beds from when I would watch the grand kids of the lady who used to own the alteration shop next door. She has since moved, but I liked the beds so I left them there. Dad and Phil put the beds up and I just did not want to take them down. I just updated the bedding and pictures."

"Yes Silas, they are bolted into the wall studs, so they will not fall. The words by the bed are my keys to life. Oh, before I forget, the floors in the bedrooms and bathroom are heated. To turn on the heated floors, there is a remote by each bed. They will heat up in 1 minute and stay warm for 10 minutes in the bedroom and 20 minutes in the bathroom. Then they shut off automatically. That way I wouldn't forget to turn them off."

"My room is at the end of the hall behind the double doors and I have my own bathroom so we won't have to share."

"Thank you for the tour Miss Sway. You have a lovely home and thank you for allowing us to stay if the weather keeps deteriorating. Let's head back up to the living room so we can go over your schedule and get things in order shall we."
