Chapter 13- Who's Who?

Mr. Blackbourne Pov

I opened the door and saw Mrs. X walking up the walkway followed by Her husband and Dr. Roberts.

“Good afternoon Owen.” Mrs X said as she stands on her toes to give me a hug. After all these years, she still makes me relax instantly. She is the mother to all Academy members. I always thought she would be an excellent mother as she was great with all of us.

“Good Afternoon Mrs. X.” I reply as I hug her back. She steps back and smiles. The smile does not reach her eyes and I know something is wrong. She pats me on my arm and then goes to Sean and does the same thing.

'Good Afternoon Owen.”

“Good afternoon Mr. X.” I reach out and shake his hand. He steps in to greet Sean and I see Mrs. X greet Kota.

“Good afternoon Dr. Roberts.” As I shake his hand, he pulls me close and whispers "You look worried and you should not be. Trust me on this. I would never hurt or harm your family.” He takes a step back and I nod. He moves on to great Sean and Kota and I feel better now. I close the door as Kota leads us all into the living room.

The guys stand up as Kota begins to introduce the couple to them. Mrs. X is 5”3, has caramel color skin with brown hair and brown eyes. Mr. X is 6”3, tan skin with salt and pepper hair. He has a beard and mustache which is also salt and pepper. He has piercing brown eyes and is still built like a tank. People think he is the one that makes the ultimate decisions but I know it's not. I have seen many people underestimate Mrs X.

Mrs X. calls my attention back when she starts talking.

“I know you are wondering why we called a meeting here with you today. I am going to let Dr. Roberts begin."

“I know you had a meeting with Emily this morning in regards to a birthday party for Luke. What did you think of her?”

Sean says promptly "I like her. She is quick witted, stands up for herself and has a positive attitude. I feel very comfortable around her. I feel like I know her, but I can't remember where we may have met."

“I love her style. From what I saw in her portfolio, she can throw some awesome events. I can't wait to see what she comes up with.” Gabe said.

“I think she has excellent taste. Her office is beautiful and some of her large scale events looked well organized. Depending on what she does for Luke’s birthday, I may have her do something for Janet and the staff at "Marée” as a thank you.” Victor smiled.

“Oh yes. I love that spa” Says Mrs. X.

“Emily is cool. She just looks familiar. I am not sure if it was from a previous assignment or not." North spoke.

“I found Miss Sway confident, smart and welcoming. I do agree with North and Sean though, she does look familiar."

“So no one has any negative thoughts or feelings towards her?”

We all say no at the same time.

“Owen, you had a background check on her. Let's see what the background report says.” Mr X says as he goes and stands behind Mrs. X. I look at her, she looks worried and her hands are shaking. I have never seen her so nervous.

I turn to Mr. Morgan and say “Mr. Morgan, can you please pass out the reports.”

“Yes Mr. Blackbourne.”

As Mr. Morgan passes the reports out, he says, “I just ran a quick report for the basics. I was going to do a detailed one this afternoon. It was short notice so I apologize Mr & Mrs. X it is not as detailed as my normal reports.”
