Mr. Blackbourne Pov

I was working in my office going over the last of my reports to submit to the Academy about our last two missions this week. I look at the picture on my desk of the last picture we took together as a family with Sang.

We are all standing around Sang after she blew out the candles of her cake. She is smiling and all of us has a look of love on our face as we look at her. I think to myself we have come a long way in a year.

When Sang died, it was hard on all of us and we all lost a part of ourselves. We all tried to protect her, but she was determined not to let anything happen to us.

She was beaten, her legs were broken, her head was bleeding and she had so many stab wounds when we found her. Sean put her in the back of the van and I drove at least 20 miles over the speed limit, and luckily we hit all green lights getting to the hospital. Mr. Lee called ahead for Sean so they could have a gurney and med team waiting when we got there.

They did all the could, but when Dr. Roberts can into her room and told us her condition and treatments, Sang said she did not want to live like that and she wanted to know the time she had left and how she would die.

As the guys had started shouting, she brought her finger to her lip and started shaking. I removed her finger from her lip and she looked up at me and smiled. I gave her my millimeter smile as she called it, to let her know I supported her in her decision.

She nodded at me, turned to the rest of the room and calmly told them that was what she was doing. She loved us all and that sometimes, bad things happen to good people. She loved us all very much and if we could not stand to be there, we could leave and she would understand.

Dr. Roberts had told us she had 24 to 48 hours left. The headaches and pain would get stronger, then she would slip into a coma and then after that, she will pass away.

I remembered her as she nodded her head and said she would spend what time she had left with us. Dr Roberts and Sean tried to change her mind, but she said no.

She asked us to decide the order and then come back to talk to her one on one and then she would talk to us as a whole family. She said to come back when we were ready. She tried to show a brave face, but we can see the emotions playing across her face.

We left her room and went into the soundproof meeting room at the hospital. There was yelling, cursing, and tears in that room. I simply said we needed to be there for Sang. We can fall apart later, but if this is what she wants, this is what we will do. No yelling, cursing, no trying to persuade her.

We decided to go in order of her meeting us, and what she said in those individual meetings would remain between her and that person unless they wanted to share.

One by one, we went into her room for private conversations with her. As my brothers went in to talk to Sang, they looked to worried, concerned and panicked. When they came out, they were all at peace.

I said to myself, leave it to Miss. Sorenson to calm and soothe their minds at this time.

My office phone shrilled through my memories and I saw it was Sean calling. I answered the phone and he immediately and excitedly began to tell me about Dr. Roberts' offer to have an event planner to plan Luke’s birthday celebration.

I agreed it was a great idea and I would contact Mr. Coleman, Mr. Taylor and Mr. Morgan so they could come as well. When Sean received a text from Dr. Roberts saying the appointment the next day at 10am, I told him they would meet us at his house at tomorrow at 9:30 am and I am on my way.

He has been working a lot of hours and I don't want him to drive.
