"My last song of the evening is dedicated to my daughter Carolina, her husband Dansby, and my future grand-daughter."
Let me introduce myself to you all folks my name is Carolina Church. I am the daughter of Katherine and country music singer Eric Church. I am happily engaged to Mr. Dansby Swanson of the Atlanta Braves. Here I am currently 9 months pregnant with a baby girl standing in the front row of the VIP section of my Dad's concert. He is getting ready to perform his very last song for the concert and let me tell you all that I am so glad for that. I love my dad to pieces but I don't want to freak him or Dansby out by saying that I am having some low back pain at the moment. I know that this is a sign of early labor but I know I'm not that far along in the dilation process. I lean over and whisper to my mom Katherine that I'm starting to feel some pressure and pain in my lower back. She looks at me and said that as soon as this song is over we are heading straight home to mine and Dansby's house.
After the song ended Dansby looked at me and asked if I was feeling okay. I couldn't keep it in any longer and told him I had been feeling pressure and lower back pain for the past few songs. He looked at me and said "Carolina why didn't you tell me, I would have not been staying for these past few songs if you were feeling like the baby is coming." I looked at him and said "James Dansby Swanson it is perfectly okay. I am fine and I saw how much you were enjoying it, hell I was too to be honest." He just looked at me and shook his head. My mom Katherine then looked at the two of us and said "I suggest we get a move on before little miss thing decides she wants to be born here at this stadium."
When we got to backstage my mom told my dad Eric that she was going to drive Dansby and I home. He said "okay, is there something wrong?" I then looked at my dad and said "Well daddy everything is fine but I believe that your grand-daughter is ready to make her appearance into this world." He hugged me then said "Y'all get outta here I'll be right behind y'all in my truck.I can't wait to see my baby girl have her baby." Before we left the stadium I decided to use the restroom I told my mom I had felt a little trickle and some dampness in my underwear. My mom said that this was a sign that my labor had began and that my waters had ruptured. After we left the venue I could tell that my contractions had started. Dansby and I decided to have a home birth because I have a phobia of hospitals.
—Time Jump— Once we got home I quickly got changed into an old nightgown of mine that I know is not restricting. My mom told me to get on the bed so she could check if I had dilated any. I am so thankful that my mom is a trained midwife/labor and delivery nurse. She checked and said that I was already at 3-4cm dilated. She suggested that I walk around a little or sit on the exercise ball and sway my hips back and forth which will help bring the baby down.
After about 4 hours of laboring my mom decides to check me again and see where I am dilated now. When she checks this time she says that I am at 10cm. She quickly yelled for my dad and Dansby to come up so they can be here for this special moment. Dansby came and stood on one side of me while my dad stood on the other side. I was told that when a contraction was coming to push as hard as I could and count to 10 before I would start again bringing my knees to my chest. I pushed again and this time my mom said she could see her head. She said that in just a few more pushes I'll have my baby in my arms. Hearing this made me even more motivated even though I was completely exhausted. Dansby leaned over and kissed the top of my head before saying "c'mon sweetheart you got this. You're the strongest woman that I know. I love you so much."
Next thing I know the only sound that filled the room was my baby girl crying. Welcome to the world Katherine Charlotte Swanson!

A/N: This was so stinkin cute to write. Y'all know how much I LOVE Dansby Swanson. I met Dansby personally at Braves Chopfest a few years ago and he was the absolute sweetest! 😍❤️
