Today is a day in between series' for the Houston Astros which means that the guys will just have practice today and maybe a team meeting or so. The Astros just finished a series between the New York Yankees going 0-3. Tomorrow they will be back in Minute Maid Park to start a series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Why do I know all of this you ask? Well, I am currently dating the Shortstop for the Astros Mr. Jeremy Peña. Jeremy and I have been together for over 2 years now, we met through a mutual friend at a fundraising event here in Houston.
Since today is just a practice day for the guys Jeremy will be home earlier than he usually is. Instead of him coming back home though he has asked me to come and meet him at the ballpark. I asked him in our texting conversation if he needed me to dress a certain way and his response was to wear something cute and casual. I truly had no idea what this boy had in store for me. After seeing what Jeremy's response was to my question about if I needed to dress a certain way ; I looked down to see that I was definitely not wearing something that I wanted to go and meet my boyfriend in. I quickly stood up from where I was in my living room and headed straight to my bedroom closet to look for something else to wear. After I was ready I grabbed my keys, sunglasses, and purse before walking out of the house. I got into my Range Rover and drove off heading towards the ballpark. The drive from my townhouse to the ballpark is 10 minutes which isn't too bad considering that this is downtown Houston.
Once I reached the ballpark I sent Jeremy a text to let him know I was here. While I waited for a response I sat in my car and scrolled on my phone. I got a text back a minute later from Jeremy saying "okay babe 😘. We are finishing up now with our little team meeting. I'll meet you outside in the parking lot." I smiled and responded back with an "okay and a thumbs up emoji." I decided to go ahead and turn my car off and grab my phone and purse before getting out. I started to see some of the guys come out into the "players/media" parking lot. I waved to the guys as they walked by; I then saw Jeremy walking out and heading my direction. Once he got to me he immediately pulled me in for a hug and kiss. When we finally pulled back he smiled and said "hey beautiful. You look amazing. Are you ready for our little adventure?" I smiled back and said to him "hey handsome. Thank you. I am ready for our little adventure." He smiled and then grabbed my hand and placed it into his. We then walked hand and hand out of the parking lot. I looked at Jeremy and he said "don't be alarmed we are going to come back for our cars in a little bit. We are going for a nice walk around downtown Houston."
The walk from Minute Maid Park to downtown Houston was around 4 ish minutes or so. Jeremy and I walked out of the parking lot hand in hand just smiling and taking to one another. While we walked and talked Jeremy said that he had been seeing that downtown Houston was getting some murals painted around the city recently. I nodded and said "I had read that on social media but I didn't know how true that was." He laughed and said "yeah I didn't really believe it either then I heard the guys talk about it too and figured it just be true then." As we walked we looked around checking out our surroundings to see what all the downtown area had to offer especially later on in the evening.
One of the first murals we found was on the side of a building. The mural was of some large Angel wings hovering over the skyline of downtown Houston with the quote "Sky's the Limit" on it. (A/N: pictured below)

The next mural we found was on the side of a building that was really tall. This mural was all about the "Houston Livestock and Rodeo." The mural had all of these different symbols on it from a cowboy hat, Chuck wagon, a lasso, a Ferris wheel, etc. Jeremy and I stopped at this mural and took a picture of it as well. I told Jeremy that I really liked this mural as well because of all the different colors.

Jeremy and I continued our walk around downtown Houston hand in hand. After stopping at a few more murals Jeremy decided that it was time for us to start heading back to Minute Maid Park. I nodded and said to my boyfriend "thank you for asking me to come on this little adventure with you." Jeremy smiled and pulled my hand up to his lips and kissed it before saying "you are welcome my love. Thank you for joining me. You know I always enjoy our dates and our late night talking." We then kissed and headed back home together.
