One of the best nights of my life. Today was game 6 of the World Series; the Atlanta Braves were up 3-2 against the Houston Astros in the best of 7 games, if they win tonight they become World Series Champions. Everyone knew that I was here to cheer on my dad; but only myself, my dad, and my boyfriend knew that I was there to cheer on my boyfriend as well.
Since I mentioned that my dad was playing in this game let me introduce myself my name is Delane Swanson and I am the daughter of Atlanta Braves Shortstop Dansby Swanson and the Forward for the Chicago Red Stars soccer team Mallory Pugh.
Now let me tell you about my boyfriend Austin. Austin and I met when we were in college at Mississippi State University. While at school I majored in Early Childhood Education and Austin majored in Business. (A/N: In real life Austin was supposed to play there but he chose to forgo it and was drafted by the Braves instead) Ever since that day Austin and I have been together ever since. As of this year we have officially been together for 7 years now. It's so nice that my family absolutely adores Austin too, it would kill me if they didn't like him you know? He gets along great with everyone and is a total sweetheart.
•••Getting Ready for Gamday••• Since the Astros' had won game 5 that had caused the next 2 games to played back in Houston, Texas at Minute Maid Park. The game was set to start at 7 pm which gave myself and my family plenty of time to get ready for the game. I decided to wear my white Braves jersey with my last name SWANSON written on the back of it. I paired it with my red pants and my navy blue LuluLemon belt bag. (Featured below)

Once I was dressed I waited a few more minutes for my mom to finish getting ready. She decided on wearing a black tank top, some black pants, and an Atlanta Braves jacket that she had customized for herself. After she was ready she came out and smiled at me and said "alright girly pop are you ready to go?" I smiled back and said "yes ma'am I am. Let's go cheer on our Braves!"
-Time Jump- After the National Anthem was sang by county music artist Carly Pearce it was time to "play ball." We (the Atlanta Braves) were up first to bat. My boyfriend Austin was batting 4th in the lineup while my dad Dansby was batting last in the 9th spot. For the first 2 innings of the game it was scoreless but let me tell you at the top of the 3rd inning everything changed. The Braves scored on a single and a walk followed by a two-out homer by Jorge Soler. When that happened I looked at my mom and said "Houston I think you have a problem. Chop on Braves!" My mom looked at me, shook her head, and giggled before replying with "I can't wait to tell your father about this." You could tell by just looking at the Braves over in the dugout that they had definitely picked up some momentum after that home run. In the 5th inning it got even more exciting because my dad hit a two-run home run, which was then followed by a double by Freddie Freeman which caused us to score again bringing our total to 6.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming: it was now the top of the 7th inning and the Braves were up to bat again. It was time for Freddie to hit again, which means that there was going to be some kind of hit or home run happening. No sooner did I think that the ball was pitched and Freddie hit a solo home run.
The 7th and 8th innings went by without a hitch and now it was the 9th inning aka the final inning. My mom and I were so excited that we were practically bouncing in our seats just watching this team play so well. After the Braves hit again it was time for the bottom of the 9th inning. Coach Snitker decided to bring in our closing pitcher Will Smith for these few outs. The first batter up hit a single and ran to first base, then the next two batters were struckout. All we had to do now was to either strikeout the next batter or the batter has to get called out while running to the base. With that being said the batter Yuli Gurriel hit an infield grounder that was flying right towards my dad at shortstop. My dad then threw the ball as fast as he could to Freddie at first base.
"LEFT SIDE, SWANSON TO FIRST, BRAVES ARE WORD CHAMPIONS!!"

My mom and I jumped up from our seats and hugged each other. Both of us had tears running down our faces. I was so proud of my dad Dansby and my boyfriend Austin. I can not wait until I get to run out onto that field to them.
After about 10 minutes we got the okay from the heads of the organization, and the security team that we could come down onto the field for the trophy celebration. My mom and I immediately grabbed our things and then quickly began walking with the other players families that were there. Once we got to the field my mom and I ran so fast up to my dad. We showered him with lots of hugs, kisses, happy tears, and the occasional words of either "we are so proud of you", "congratulations", or "I love you." He was smiling so big at us. After we celebrated I saw my boyfriend Austin start walking towards us. When I saw him I immediately ran to him as fast as I could. Once I reached him he picked me up and I swung and wrapped my legs around his torso. I could stay like this forever I thought.
After a few seconds he put me back down on the field and I embraced him in a hug. He then let go of me and tilted my chin up to look at him. He then placed a kiss on my forehead and then on my lips. (A/N: I'm getting butterflies just writing this😍🦋) While we were kissing we began to hear the sounds of whistles or "yeah Austin, get it." We both laughed and giggled before pulling away from each other and seeing my family and some of the team standing there looking at us. Some of them had shocked expressions on their face once they realized it was me. Austin and I both looked at each other before turning to look at our friends, teammates, and family before saying "surprise!"

I love the Atlanta Braves so much, so I was so excited to write another imagine about a player of theirs.
