Hey I'm Nicole why don't you stay a while because it's story time!

January 10th, 2020
It all started when my dad and I decided that we were going to go to Chop Fest for the Atlanta Braves. We both really wanted to go and hang out and get some autographs from some of our favorite players. Ended up purchasing autograph tickets for Freddie Freeman, Johan Camargo, Dansby Swanson, and Austin Riley. I was officially on countdown mode after I bought the tickets just waiting for the day to get here.

After everything was purchased I was telling one of my  friends named Maddie that I had got them. She then told me she had asked for tickets from her family for her birthday for the Chop Fest Gala. The Gala is the day before Chop Fest and is an event that supports the Atlanta Braves Foundation. At the Gala you can bid on an auction they have going on, eat, drink, dance to music, and mingle with the whole Atlanta Braves team. A few days later Maddie called me freaking out saying that she had received the tickets to the Gala, and wanted me to attend with her!!

January 24, 2020 -THE DAY OF THE GALA🤩
The Gala was at the Coca Cola Roxy which is located in the battery next to Truist Park. The Gala began at 7:00pm. A little before 8:00 the 2020 Atlanta Braves team came up on the stage, after playing a few videos the team announcer Chip Carey began doing the introductions. Once the introductions were done the players walked off the stage and into the crowd to mingle. That night I got pictures with Dansby Swanson, Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley, Mike Soroka, Mike Foltynewicz, Sean Newcomb, Johan Camargo, and Adam Duvall. (All I have to say is holy moly the hotness of this crew😍😍)

My dad and I woke up bright and early. We checked our autograph tickets and the time for our first session was at 10 am. Chop Fest also started at 10, so we knew for sure that we definitely wanted to be where we needed to be when the event started. The first person up for autographs was Freddie Freeman. When it was my turn I walked up to where he was sitting at the table and said "it was so great to see you at the Gala last night." He looked at me then said "I was about to say I thought I recognized you." I could not believe my ears when he said that. Internally I lost it, all I could think was "FREDDIE FREEMAN REMEMBERED ME." The fact that he recognized me even though we had only talked for maybe 20 seconds the night before truly blew my mind.

My dad and I didn't have anything else to do after that until 3pm when our next autograph session was. It was so cold that day, so we ended up getting in line at 2:15 to be ahead of the huge crowd that I knew would be there for Dansby Swanson and Austin Riley. Once it was time the line moved fairly quickly and soon enough it was my time to get Dansby Swanson's autograph. Bless my dad because he got a video and pictures from that experience.

Thank you to my friend Maddie, my dad, and the Atlanta Braves for some of my all time favorite memories

To Freddie,
My first ever "favorite baseball player." You taught me to love the Braves the way I do, and showed me what it looks like to be an all around, stand up, stand out player. I will never forget my experiences that I have had with you. I also got to witness you win the World Series at the ballpark, which truly was so magical. Thanks for making my life so exciting! Going to miss you so much, but I know you will do great things in L.A.

Love,
Nicole 💙
