"Can we talk?" He said as he opened the door a little bit. I didn't reply, he came inside closed the door, and sat right next to me. The weather outside started to pour rain and he looked outside.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" I didn't answer.
"Every rain drop is only a new source for a flower to grow. Just like I need you to grow, beauty is crafted so beautifully that none could compare to you. All rain drops do the same job, but you're that special raindrop that's different from them. It's a beautiful sight, the fog comes up and you get to write all over the windows.. It's like you have time to think for a little bit; just to write down the most random words and then you end up creating something so beautiful, you forget all but take advantage of some. All for one and one for all is how that describes the rain and flowers. All can do the same job, but it only takes that special one.." He concluded, I only stared at him as he spoke such beautiful words and I was in such a trance as he only looked out the window.
"Don't you think?" He asked, as he turned to face me.
"Yeah.." Was all I could manage to say as he looked at me. He sat on the bed with me and looked at me simply just staring. It sounded like our breathing was combined into one.
"Do you want to tell me why you're upset at me?" He said slowly.
"I'm actually not in the mood to speak to you. You find out yourself and then talk to me when you think you've figured it out." I said regaining my confidence and walked out my room, calling for my baby girl Amelia.
"Mommy.." She said while pouting her small plum lips.
"What's the matter princess?"
"He eating my cereal." She said as she pointed at Josh.
"Josh, why are you eating the child's food?" I said, hitting him in the shoulder.
"She got three months supply of it Nova. I can't have a little bit?"
"Mel, get your mans! He's not going to be eating my baby's food like this." Mel came up behind him and whispered something into his ear; which made him kiss Amelia's forehead and ran upstairs. I covered Amelia's ears in disgust.
"Y'all are just a nasty pair." I said while my face wrinkled together in disgust.
"Do you want him to keep eating her cereal or not?" She said as she shrugged her shoulders. I shook my head and shooed her away. Vincent came downstairs, looking at Amelia smiling and eating her cereal. He kissed both our foreheads as she shrieked because she was so focused on her show.
"Amelia, no screaming in the house." Vincent said, shushing her. She paid him no mind as I lowly giggled.
"Why are you laughing?"
"You do know that, you don't bother a girl during her favorite show." I said, laughing.
"Mommy.." Amelia whispered as she put her finger to her little lips, hushing me."Why do I get an glad shattering scream and you get a calm shush?" He said, crossing his arms. As soon as the show was over, Amelia no longer had interest in the next show.
"Mommy.." She said as she reached for me in her high chair. I smiled as I picked her up. She wrapped her tiny legs around me, along with her arms around my neck as she laid her head on my right shoulder.
"She knows that I don't play the games Daddy let's go off. I think she's tired, I'll take her to sleep."
"Yeah, she's been waiting for you since you left around 7."
"Poor princess, I'll take her to sleep. Right baby girl?" I rubbed her back as she slowly nodded her head.
"Bye Daddy.." She waved tiredly.
"Sweet dreams baby." He came around to kiss her forehead, he stood there for a minute just to only look deeper at me.
"May we talk later? If that is okay with you, of course." He asked as he touched her free cheek.
"Do you finally know what I am talking about? Or do you want something else?" I asked bluntly.
"Don't be like this, just let's talk about it later. Okay?" On that note, I walked towards the stairs without looking back. As soon as I entered Amelia's room to lay her down, she woke up frantically.
"Mommy.. Can you stay with me?" She tried to make out in a baby voice, trying not to cry. My heart broke and I slowly nodded my head. I laid in her bed right beside her and she quickly cuddled me with her head on my chest and arms around my stomach. I couldn't try to even imagine how much hurt she went through because she had no mother in her life and the fact that she had practically has been a Daddy's girl. Literally. I decided to hold her close to my chest and didn't move until I knew that she was fully asleep. She smiled in her sleep and that was the best thing that I could ask for her to do at the moment. I just wanted her to feel at peace for a moment, I wouldn't know how I would turn out if my mother didn't raise me. I probably would have been pregnant or into drugs by now. All girls need to have that womanly figure in their lives. Girls who don't have one are just as strong to deal with it.
She held me with a tight grip around me, but as soon as I tried to let her sleep alone; her face was full of discomfort and fear. Her jaw clenching was one of the first things I noticed. My heart couldn't bare to see her like this, I placed her in between my legs and her head laid on my chest. She released her jaw and snuggled up closely to me, her tiredness reached over to me and we both fell into a deep sleep.
