27. Good Lovin'

Several hours later, I woke up to Amelia's movement and laughter as I opened my eyes.

"Hi Mommy." She laughed.

"Hey baby girl, what are you laughing about?" I asked as I stretched, she shook her head and jumped off the bed, running down the hall.

"Amelia? Where are you going?" I chased after her as she giggled.

"Princess, I can't be chasing-" I was immediately cut off by everyone in the living room, standing in my appearance.

"What's going on in here?"

"Just shut up and enjoy this Nova." Mel said as she stood proudly next to Josh while Amelia sat in Josh's arms.

"Where's Vincent?" I felt a sudden grasp around my waist from behind me and which made me jump.

"Don't worry, I got you.." He whispered in my ear softly. He came around me and held my hand as we walked to the backyard, there was a blanket on the grass with sandwiches and juice in the middle with a rose.

"Don't be too naughty you guys." Josh said as Mel tried to contain her laughter.

"Shut up and leave J." Vincent said, irritated.

"Mommy, you come back?" Amelia asked while everyone present looked at her in awe as I smiled genuinely.

"I promise that I'll be back." I kissed her forehead and she began to pout, the tears filling her eyes. In one blink, those cheeks will be filled with streams of water.

"Give me my princess." Josh passed her to me and her face automatically lighted up with happiness.

"Why is she so attached to you Nova?" Mel asked me, with her eyes filled with concerned and awe.

"I don't know, and I don't care. As long as she shows affection towards me. She is my baby, just as much as I am her mommy. She won't have to know until later on in life." I said as Vincent looked at me, smiling at me. Vincent signaled them to leave as I sat Amelia in my lap.

"Can I just take the moment to tell you how much I just appreciate your presence in her life, along with mine?" He asked before kissing the back of my head.

"You could start." Amelia started laughing.

"What are you laughing at Lia?" Vincent said, lifting her up over my head and tackling her with tickles.

"Mommy! Save me!" She tried to say, while giggles interrupted each with word.

"Vincent, stop tickling her before she laughs to death!" I said while joining the laughter between them.

"Do you want to feel my wrath as well Lady Nova?" Vincent raised his hands off Amelia and looked at me.

"Vincent, don't you dare try and tickle me. I don't like being tickled." I said as I scooted away from him.

"Why not?" He said in a creepy voice.

"Ew, change your voice please. Sound so weird and disgusting." I laughed as she joined in with me, and eventually he did too. A couple moments of silence as we all gazed at the stars, no one spoke, no one laughed, simply just gazing; even baby Lia was just taken away with the beauty of it all.

"I promise that as long as the stars live that you two will be the only factors to make me do better for us, three." Vincent whispered as Lia laid in my lap and pointed out stars that were big.

"Mommy! Mommy! Look! That one was big!" She said as she patted my legs to catch my attention.

"Just like the ones in your eyes."

"Wow.." She was all that she could say; as she looked at her hands in amazement and looked at me in shock.

"I can't understand how much she has grown attached to you over the shortest period of time. I honestly thought that she was going to call Erica mommy before you, we even planned on what we were going to tell her and everything. Not my girlfriend.. This is beyond belief amazing." I looked at him all confused and Lia laid in my lap playing with my fingers.

"What do you mean?"

"Just look. She's in love with you. She doesn't even play with my fingers. All she knows is that she's a daddy's girl and whatever she wants Daddy gives her. But you; she knows perfectly well that you don't play that. No is no and she understands that perfectly, so she doesn't argue with you at all. I just find that amazing, that's all." He said as he traced his fingers along my side as we continued to sit in silence, except for Lia's giggles.

"Mommy.." Lia said after minutes of silence.

"What is it princess?" She pointed at her stomach and looked up at me, I laughed and she gives me a big smile. Vincent was passed out cold as we got up silently and walked inside.

It was about 9:50pm when we came inside to get a snack. I grabbed a bag of 8 apple slices, putting them into a clean bowl, along with some water in her sippy cup. She shook her head, pointing at the cookies. I shook my head and sat across from her as she calmly looked at me.

"Why don't you want the apples?" I asked.

"Mommy, yucky." I laughed at her facial expression.

"They're yucky?" She nodded her head. I grabbed a slice and ate it.

"I think it's yummy." She looked at me as I ate another one.

"I want one." She reached out her hand to get one.

"Are they yummy?" She nodded her head and kept eating them. I mentally high fived myself as she continued to eat them and watched the Barbie movie, I set on my phone for her.

I turned on the lights to only see Vincent in a light grey dress shirt, khakis with suspenders, and dark tan dress shoes, and Josh wearing a similar ensemble but instead of suspenders, he wore a bow tie. As they both steadily were creeping down the stairs.

"So, where are you two going all dressed up at 10:14 in the night?" I asked.

"No-"

"Does Mel know that you're going out?" He softly shook his head and looked down.

"Weren't you just outside, sleeping, like twenty minutes ago?" I said as I pointed at him.

"I was, but we had something to do tonight that I forgot that we had to do." He said, stepping closer to me.

"You're one terrible liar. Tell me." I looked back at Lia and she was still trapped onto the movie.
