Mel ends up sleeping over since it was too dark for her to go home by the time we both woke up around 7pm. We both woke up doing our AP World History and Honors Chemistry homework, making sure that one did half and one did the other half.
Mel began to complain how she wanted to take a fifteen minute break. "So, I think I may like Josh. His smile is so damn cute. And he was smiling at me too, so I think we might have a crush on each other." She blushes, as I roll my eyes. She pushes me off the bed and that causes my mother to come inside my room.
"What was that?" She asks frantically.
Mel and I laughed, "Nothing Ms. Blay. Nova fell off the bed." Mel starts to chuckle and I bursted out laughing. She leaves my room smiling.
"I think Vincent might have a crush on you Nova. He is really cute too." She reaches her hand out to pull me up.
"Guys like him don't go for girls like me." I brush myself off.
"Nova, you and I are like the same damn person."
I folded my arms as I looked at her dead into her eyes. "Mel, you are light skin. Every guy likes you, you're curvy and have dimples. Everyone likes you."
She rolls her eyes at me, "Nova, you are just as curvy. You have a slim body with a nice big set of boobs and nice perky butt. Vincent probably likes you but you're too stubborn to see it." I scoff at her, basically telling her whatever.
"You won't be whatevering at me when you get that big old dick slapped across your face!" I almost fell off the bed again laughing at Melanie while she has a dead serious look across her face. You could see that she was trying to hard not to laugh.
"Can we do this work first and then talk about why the sky is blue later please?" I said to her while wiping a stray tear off my cheek. She smiled and grabbed the AP World History textbook and began reading the first half of the chapter.
We finished around 10pm and she brought up Josh again. It was cute that she actually had a crush on a guy and she didn't like him because of his looks, but at the same time it got annoying because it only ended up her talking about Vincent and I.
"Josh has the prettiest smile, I can't wait to see him again. You better warn your mom because she is going to see me more often in this house." I smiled and got ready for bed long with Mel. I threw her a pair of shorts and a shirt.
"Why won't you admit that you like Vincent?" She smirked at me, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Cause I don't. Mel, I just met him by a him running away from the cops I'm not going to like a criminal." I said with my voice getting irritated.
"Nova, come on now. Live a little, plus you could never know the reason behind why he is selling it on the side. You're just judging him based off of that one event." She said with a duh tone. "At least admit that he's cute and I would drop the subject for tonight." I bit my lip in nervousness.
"Fine, he's cute, you happy? Now shut up and go to sleep." I turned off the light as she started to mock me.
The next morning, Mel and I got ready for school. Since she slept over last minute, she went searching through my closet after we finished using the bathroom and taking a shower. She grabbed a red and black plaid shirt with ripped jeans, with my black leather jacket and black combat boots. I grabbed a gray crop shirt that printed flawless and black high waisted jeans with white vans and long black cardigan that draped over me. I grabbed my bag as did she the same and we walked downstairs with my mom making waffles and bacon strips for us.
"Hey Mommy."
"Hey Ms. Blay." My mom waved to both of us, seeing that she was in a rush.
"You guys better start walking to that bus stop. Let's go!" We both grabbed some disposable plates and napkins with a bottle of Naked juice in our hands leaving the house.
It was 6:27am when we made it there. We stood there laughing as cars came driving by. We saw two figures, walking in our direction and shrugged them off thinking that it's some other kids walking to the bus stop.
"Well, hey gorgeous." A voice came from behind us.
"Oh, hey Josh." She gave him a hug, while blushing and looked like she didn't want to let go. They walked off to the side, still near us and smiling and blushing at each other.
"Hey Nova." Vincent said to me, as I bite one of the bacon strips.
"Vincent. I already told you to not call me Nova." The way he said my name rolled off his tongue, sending chills from my spine to my fingertips.
"Can I have a bacon strip?" I looked at him with a 'what the fuck' face and turned back around looking out for the bus.
"Nova, may I have a bacon strip please?" I rolled my eyes again, and looked for the school bus.
"Novaaaaaa.." He whined my name and I toss him one to shut him up. He comes up close to me and stands behind me.
"Thank you beautiful." He whispers into my ear, with his eyes full of lust.
"Get away from me, I don't know you like that." I looked at him up and down before turning around to look at Mel and Josh is holding her hand and blushing at her, while she does the same.
"So, Nova. I was wondering two things. One, why are you standing here and two, may I please get your number?" He said hopefully.
"One, because I am going to a magical place called school. Two, why?" I said sarcastically.
"Because I want to talk to you more. I promise you I can make you smile." He smirked at me again with the beautiful eyes.
The bus was coming before he snatched my phone while I had it unlocked and put his number in there. He put his name as:
Vincent with the lock emojiI smiled and rolled my eyes as he texted himself.
As soon as Mel and I sat down in the bus, I received a message saying,
Vincent-
