20. I'll Sing for you

A few weeks passed by, Vincent was an amazing boyfriend, but Josh was still trying to work on Mel. Mel was really traumatized by it. But, she was still the same old Mel. He came over my house more frequently and if I had practice he would be right outside waiting for me.

Monday night, we were talking about homecoming at school that was coming up soon. I couldn't help but to see that Vincent was holding my waist and on his phone.

"So, do you want to go to homecoming?" He asked.

"Yeah, but I mean, if Mel doesn't go then what's the point?" I said as I didn't look up.

"To have fun, duh." He gently hit my thigh and smiled.

"But Mel and I go together. It's a best friend thing."

"I mean we'll try to do something." He said, I looked at him confused and as soon as I was about to ask, he was taking a video of us on snapchat.

"Aw, you look cute in that one baby girl." He kissed my cheek and looked at me.

"I look like I'm dying of laughter."

"Maybe because you were because I was tickling you?" He said sarcastically.

"You're ridiculous." I shoved him and he smiled brightly at me.

I heard a car door slam shut and it was my mom. I push him out of my room as he gives me one last kiss. The minute I shut my window closed was the minute my mom called my name.

"Yes mom?"

The next day at school, we had an assembly which was probably over homecoming, how not to drink, how not to bring anyone over 21, how to be responsible. Same old thing..

Mel and I found each other and sat together. The lights began to fade and I laid back.

"Today's assembly is a very important assembly, with a little spice kicked into it." Mel and I mocked her as she said for thousandth time. The lights hit darker and a piano showed up, probably Mr. C and Mr. Alexander singing a song to get everyone hype. Two figures came up and started to clear their throats. The piano began to play this soft delicate tune that made you want to watch the person playing it all day long.

All the girls screamed, but we realized that it wasn't Mr. C or Mr. Alexander playing. The whole auditorium was silent.

"Givoanna Blay?"

"Melanie Lanie?" Said the two figures up there. Mel and I held hands unsure of what's happening as the whole auditorium was watching us.

We walked up there and the two figures held our hands as the lights turned on. It was Vincent and Josh.

"Givoanna."

"Melanie. You both are a wonderful accomplishment that two gentlemen could receive, I'm proud to say-"

"You are the highlight of my day and the-"

"Last person I think about. I can't help but to-"

"Think about a smile so beautiful and a-"

"Woman so rare that-"

"It could have me speechless and nervous and-"

"Pretty damn hard at the sight." Josh daps up Vincent as the whole crowd laughs.

"So in front of the whole school-"

"And the special connection that we have with each other-"

"Will you do us the honor of going to homecoming with me, Vincent Greene-"

"And with me, Joshua Davis?"

We both stood there in tears as they both stared at us.

"Yes, I will go to homecoming with you Vincent." I said as he picked me up and kisses me. Everyone cheered but soon got silent to hear Mel's answer.

"No.."
