"Who is making you smile like that?" Mel asked while taking her headphones out.
"No one. What are you talking about?" I said with an innocent smile.
New message from Vincent
Mel takes one look at my phone and starts laughing and smiling really hard. "You put a lock on his name. What's that supposed to mean?"
I turn my head to hide me from looking at her and blushing. "It is nothing Mel. I didn't put the lock there he did." I roll my eyes and as the bus takes off, I look out the window and see him nodding his head, winking at me. I rolled my eyes at him and he smirked at me as the bus rolled by him and Josh.
Vincent has been texting me all during school and hasn't stop replying.
Vincent: Are you going home yet?
Me: No I have practice and rehearsal.
Vincent: YOU play a sport?
Me: -.- Depends if you consider dancing as a sport or not.
Vincent: Well I mean you should dance on me ;)
Me: Don't you have some thots for that?
Vincent: I don't
Me: Whatever..
"Miss Blay. Care to explain why you are on your phone during my time?" I smile.
"Well, Mr. Ritchie it is the last ten minutes of class. Please?" He smiles and nods at me.
"If security comes in, just realize that I told you to put your phone away. Especially Mr. Bradley. He is not playing no games this year." He warns me and turns away to talk to his future wife.
Once the bell rings, Vincent called me as soon as I got through the dance studio.
"Hello?" I said shyly.
"Hey beautiful, um.. I was just wondering do you want to go out with me sometime.. Like Friday night?" He asked shyly and nervously which made him a little bit more cuter.
"Do I have a choice?" He laughed.
"Not really. So how bout it?"
"Maybe." I heard a laugh and as he hung up, I heard someone ask if she said yes.
I tried to ignore it, and warmed myself up by doing a couple of jumping jacks and trying to warm myself up from the October air. I sat in the corner while trying to make up my set of eight count for my solo.
I did my solo while everyone cheered and made me feel good. Dancing is the only way I can reveal stress most of the time.
I came home and it is about 5:11pm. I have my head phones in again, not paying attention to anything but that orange popsicle calling my name. Then I actually hear someone calling my name.
"Nova!" I keep looking down, hoping that they would go away.
"NOVA." I look up and see Vincent running up to me.
"Yes?" I take one headphone out and look up to meet his heavy golden brown eyes, looking like they haven't slept all day.
I look at his eyes deeper and look at the small details on his face. His dark brown hair, a small scar above his eyebrow that looked like it was healing, the barely noticeable dimple in his right cheek, the bright and straight white teeth.
"Nova, you okay?" He grabs my hands.
"I'm fine. What's up with your eyes? You look like you haven't gotten any sleep." I said while snatching my hands back to my side.
"Yeah I'm fine, I was taking care of my ... friend's daughter." He said as he sounded hesitant. I shrugged it off and looked at the time.
"Well, I need to go to home now."
"Wait, let me take you somewhere. Really quick."
"Are you crazy? My parents are going to kill me."
"Tell them practice ended at 7. Just come with me." He grabbed my arm and ran me to the street.
He holds me close to him and doesn't let go after I pushed him several times away from me. We took a left and he walked behind me through a cut. He takes me by my hand and looks around. I see a beautiful sunset sky, a crystal blue clear pond and a small bench under a tree, slowly turning into light shades of red and orange. He leads me to the bench under the tree, handing me his jacket.
"You're going to get cold." I said, handing it back.
"Take it. I'll be fine." He hands it back to me and smiles.
I scooted over farther away and he scoots over closer to me.
"Are you scared of me?" He says while looking ashamed.
"I'm not scared of you, why would you think so?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Because of the other night and I guess I should say sorry. It was out of nowhere and wasn't supposed to happen. I am sorry." He stares into my eyes, like he was in a trance.
I break away from our eye contact. "You speak correct English. Surprising."
"I did go to school you know." He said in a sarcastic tone.
"You DID. Why aren't you in it now?"
"I was in a position where I need to stay making money fast and provide faster."
"For who and why?"
"Unless you want her to die then I need to do what I need to do."
