It's dark outside and I'm walking home from the bus stop at the seven, coming back from dance practice; only holding my duffle bag and a Gatorade bottle. My phone virbrated as I was almost to be three houses down from mine. "Are you home Nova?" My best friend asked on the phone.

"Melanie, I'm almost there and it's starting to creep me out-" I was stopped by the sound of police cars zooming and two teenage boys running in my direction.

"Josh! Fuck man, hurry up! They are right behind our ass!" Someone said while, trying to pull up their pants. He comes running towards me, frantically talking to the boy, Josh.

"Josh, her her her!" He says as he points at me. "HEY, YOU!" I looked down and prayed that he wasn't talking to me, that there was someone else behind me. They both stood in front of me, looking like they lost their mind.

"Hold this and meet us back here tomorrow with it. Don't unwrap it." A bright light of the police car flashed light onto their faces. I hurried and put it in my duffle bag as they ran to the house beside me; jumping over the fence and continued running. The police car rolled up towards me stopping me in my path. My heart was racing, my knees jerked, and every part of my body became stiff as rock.

"Excuse me Miss! Did you see two boys running?" He asked in a harsh and anxious tone. I automatically pointed in the wrong direction to the street behind me as he got into his patrol car and zoomed off.

I continued to walk home, "I can not believe what the fuck just happened." I said out loud as I quickly got inside my house.

I creeped up the stairs as my father laid on the couch, snoring the night away. I went up to my room and shut the door, throwing my duffle bag onto my bed. I rushed my way over to my bed and grabbed the package he gave me. Almost instantly the smell flew across my nose, almost filling up the whole room. I threw it across my room as I remembered that it's the mysterious boy and his partner in crime that has basically given me this foul smelling package to save their butts from going to juvenile detention center. That was if the judge was going to take mercy on them and charge them as children or adults. I was sitting there lost in my thoughts and trying to not have a panic attack. I look at my bag and it was like the smell came flying at my nose every time I looked at it. I couldn't take the odd smell anymore and I ran over to my bathroom closet, spraying my whole room with lavender air freshener. I took one deep breath in and I found myself with relief. I put it back, and grabbed my phone, laying on my back on my bed. I fell to sleep, only because I replay what happened to me about an hour ago.

I woke up nervously getting into the shower and breathing the steam of the hot water, releasing my muscles from tension I was putting on it, from clenching my whole mouth.

"Givoanna!" My mother calls me from downstairs, I get out the shower and got dressed for school.

"Yes Mommy?"

"What time did you come home last night?" She sharply looks into my eyes. I tried to push my duffle bag, trying to be unnoticeable under me. Her stares were getting sharper each time and it made me feel like she knew something was up.

"Around 7:39pm, why?"

She doesn't say anything, she looks at me with a terse face, but ends up relaxing it and with a smile. "Go to school child." She hugs me goodbye as I make my way through the door.
