We ended up falling asleep on the couch, with Amelia on his chest and his arm wrapped around me. She cooed and fluttered her eyes awake and it made me scared, I didn't want to wake him up. I saw her bottom lip pout and picked her up automatically.

"It's okay little one." She looked at me and blinked in confusion.

I walked into the house, not without taking a look at the scenery. I walked around with her with her head laying on my shoulder. I heard running and I panicked. I went around the corner and remained quiet. My heart rate went through the roof as I tried not to freak out with Amelia.

"Amelia? Nova?" I went around the corner as soon as I heard Vincent's husky voice and saw him with his collar undone. Amelia rose up and I set her down as she stubbled her way to Vincent. I smiled and went in search for Mel.

"Thank you for holding her for me. She can get really fussy if I'm not around her." Vincent said.

"She actually didn't get fussy, she just laid her head on my shoulder and remained quiet." I said and he looked pretty shocked. I smiled at him as I walked around the house.

I saw awards and trophies and pictures all around. I saw a picture of a pretty young girl and a baby in her hands. I turned to the left and saw another picture of what looks like Vincent holding the baby while looking so amused and smiling. I turned to my right and saw a baby walking, Vincent holding her up while having the biggest smile on his face. I smiled and figured that was Amelia because her hair was the same light brown it is now. I smiled at all these memories captured and how many Vincent looked in all of them. Amelia smiling with no teeth and both of them sleeping side by side with their mouths wide open. I saw an award engraved, Vincent Greene Student Athlete; I saw a letter next to it and decided to open it.

Dear Vincent Greene,
We've been keeping our eye out for a student athlete like yourself and along with fabulous grades with such phenomenal creativity within young man like yourself.
We would love for you to take our university into consideration of attending to and hope for you to visit our campus sometime.
We'll be saving a place for you.
From,
Colorado State University.

I set the letter down perfectly in its spot and kept looking around.

"Hey, what are you doing in here? Who are you?" I heard someone say and I turned around frightened.

"I'm Givoanna. I'm sorry I know I'm not supposed to be in here." I said in a soft whisper.

"Oh, you're the Vincent is trying to impress. I'm his sister, Erica. Nice to meet you. I didn't know Vincent had a thing for darkskins. You're actually really pretty. His last girlfriend was to, but I ain't like her. How are you about to act white, KNOWING damn well you're light skin. But you seem like you know what to do."

"Oh.. Well thank you." I didn't know what to say because I wanted to choose my words carefully. Erica stood at 5'7-5'8 with ocean blue eyes and was pretty slim until she turned around and she had a pretty big butt.

"These are all his awards and college letters and trophies.. Yeah.. He was in it for the big time, but life happens and bitches happen to. I would've smacked her ass dark skin, but our mom wouldn't let me touch her."

"What happened?" I was so confused because she was talking so fast.

"Oh, okay. Amelia's mom, aka bitch, trapped Vincent because she knew he was going to get big. But no one knows why she did it. I know damn well that she knew he was going to have to drop out of school in order to take care of his daughter because my little brother isn't no bum ass or dead beat dad. He was taught better than that and knows better, so he WILL take care of his responsibilities. I remember this house was chaos. Yelling and screaming and everything is being thrown, baby is crying upstairs, our so called father came down all the way here from North Carolina just to tell us this is exactly why he left. I wanted to punch her in the throat. That was a day no one will forget." She said while clenching her fist together.
